Does anyone know of what chests can spawn the Bow of the Avenger? I have never completed the game, and I would like my Rangerlord to get a good bow with high damage. And seeing how all bows in this game are crap, cept maybe the Bow of the Avenger, I was hoping someone knew directly where to find it. As I hate toting around the Poison Eleven Bow (3-6dmg, +3strike, %psn dmg) and a War Bow (3-7dmg). Does crap for damage, and really have nothing special to offer.
The necrotic bow, ice bow, and the bow of vines would be my second choices...but, I have never come across them either. I supposing they're in one of the last dungeons.

Okay, thanks. I kept trying re-open chests in the Shadow Ruins, but I get nothing but medium special axes and special swords.Lin wrote:I found the neureotic bow in draedoth, and later in tomb of souls.
You find them in the chests that give med weapons
I put this character to bed again. I'll try to revive it again, and head over to draedoth ruins.
Thanks.

I'm assuming the Bow of Avengers is in the last playable dungeon (The Maze).
It's just that I can't stand playing a character with a Strike of about 135...that misses 50%-70% of the time. Why make it hard for the Rangerlords in this game. They need high-powered bows from the start of the game. That +25% damage bonus that Rangerlords get just isn't that much...especially for all bows with exception to the Bow of Avengers.
They should have made it a +100%damage bonus for the Rangerlord Heraldry. That would have been interesting. Or at least make the Rangerlord Heraldry that you can shoot 2-3 arrows at once. Oh, well...tis a shame.
*By the way, has anyone really enjoyed playing the Rangerlord character? And if so, HOW? I know there are 2 Rune spells that I could use to raise Strike and Damage of Bow attacks...so is it worth it to go the route of getting "Learning Bonuses" in Rune Magic to get a highly-powered ARCHER? The only problem is...that I don't think I ever found that Rune Spell, Boon Missiles for any of my characters...maybe it's like all the other spells that I never found in this game...they simply don't exist in version 1.5CE (Because HP never bothered to fix those bugged spells).

Over my time playing I've seemed to notice that ranged weapons dont drop unless the enemy is using them when killed. In other words if you kill the enemy with normal melee attacks he'll pull out a sword or fight you hand to hand in which he'll drop w/e melee weapon he is using instead. I was wondering what ranged weapon the Ranger Lord Boss was using. It is possible he has the Bow of Avenger but I dont know. I havent played Ranger Lord. Did his ranged weapon put you to sleep or anything? Since the Bow of Avenger has sleep 50% on it. This is just a thought.
Hope this helps,

Hey planet guardian,
I don't know where to find the Avenger bow, but had a thought on how to make he character more playable. Since all the best bows freeze, paralyze, or put to sleep, I suggest summoning creatures to suppliment your attacks. Also, using magic to increase the damage might be helpful. The polearm that invokes Divine Intervention would be nice. Suumon deathlord or Evil would be nice. Even several lesser summons could work. Not sure if you have access to magic learning bonuses or not. If I was going to play a ranger lord, I would focus less on armour andmore on spells to suppliment my offense. Also, doesn't the critical strike kick in enough do kill often. Try raising it to really high levels and see what htat does. Just some thoughts. Hope your build works out.
