Problem constructing the Flail of Ages+3.

Post by liorde »

Well,

It has been ages since I have been in the De'Arnise Keep in I now posses the Flail of Ages+2 (I am missing one head, the poison head).

Anyway, I found it and now I returned to the De'Arnise Keep, with the 3rd head, but, the forge does not respond to anything anymore. I tried all sorts of variations in approaching the forge but nothing seems to do the job.
So, am I missing something here or is it lost and I can never get it to assemble..??

Thank-you.

Sorry i think you lost your chance. Once you clear the keep the forge is unusable. Just check but i think its lost for ever.

I dont understand something..

I just recently found it, if I recall, in the Watcher's Keep, which was a very hard place to be in ...
That was ages after I finished the De'Arnise keep.
The De'Arnise keep was one of my first quests to complete...
Hummm... strange, looks like some design or chronological flaw to me...

Thanks all the same :)

Your problem is, the poison head is infact the fourth head.

Within de'Arnise Keep you acquire three heads

Blue Head (ice) - found in the room next to the forge
Green Head (acid?) - loot from/given to you by the charmed commander (Glaucis?) who attacks you on the second level of the keep.
Red Head (fire) - found in the golem chamber.

When all thee heads are combined you gani the Flail of Ages +3.

The poison (and a fifth head) are added in ToB and are intended to be upgraded by the Imp Butler.

I guess you have a point there Raven.
As of now, I think the flail only has 2 heads, since I could not loot the head where the Golems were since I was really low level when I visited De'Arnise Keep back then. No chance I was have made it out of there.
Alter when I cleared the Keep, there was nothing in those coffins... bummer.

Oh well, will have to try the next time I guess...

Thanks!

You can get the red head from the golem room without having to fight them.
The golem will only attack if you take the other item (I think its some sort of Warhammer) from that particular statue.

If you have Boots of Speed or a mage that can cast Haste then you can also outrun that golem. At least that is what I do.
Great spirits have always found violent opposition from mediocre minds. The latter cannot understand it when a person does not thoughtlessly submit to hereditary prejudices but honestly and courageously uses their intelligence.

You can take the head with out the golems turning hostile. Nothing else though. At least I'm pretty sure of it...

Yep. But the best trick is a Sanctuaried Cleric taking everything. :)

Or take out each golem (bar the big) individually. If you attack on only it becomes hostile. Its friends just stand there and watch it gt slaughtered.
