Anomen failed his test - is this an issue?
I play a female character, so I'm part way through the romance with Anomen, not sure how far, but anyways...
Anomen failed his test and I'm wondering if this'll interfere with the romance or the storyline.
I'm not sure if this is a glitch or not, but I've rested a couple times (about four) and each time after the rest ends Aerie says the same thing, "Anomen, blah blah blah, you're beginning to scare me." He gets angry, etc etc, but he only attacked her the first time. Bug?

Anomen and Keldorn have a tense relationship which may be affected by whether A passes his test. TBH, I find having both those two in the party is not the most endearing and I usually plump for keeping Anomen as he can become a very good cleric, despite several annoying faults. Keldorn's special abilties don't match Anomen's increasing power as as a cleric. I have often dumped K before A takes his test.

I strongly disagree. However, I don't use clerics much anyway. I just don't fid their spells nearly as useful as mage spells. Turning undead is cool but Viconia's ability is cooler. This may change if Anomen fails his test of course. I wouldn't know as I actually never tried that. Still for my uses Keldorn has much greater potential than Anomen.Celacena wrote:Keldorn's special abilties don't match Anomen's increasing power as as a cleric. No, if I recall correctly, you don't.Oscuro_Sol wrote:Meaning I have to get rid of Aerie?
Unlike most NPC conflicts, Aerie and Anomen (as I recall) do not leave the party to duke it out. They merely go to that uncontrollable 'purple' mode, and afterwards the dead party member can be revived as normal.
Hope this helps - though it was a long time ago for me, so perhaps my memory is faulty.

Except that and he's far less self-righteous as Chaotic Nuetral than he is Lawful Good.Jedi_Sauraus wrote:Wow I dind'nt know you could revive Anomen after his conflict with Aerie still no reason to let him fail the test unless your roleplaying evil

Very true... *wicked cough*Aqua-chan wrote:Except that and he's far less self-righteous as Chaotic Nuetral than he is Lawful Good.
Though he's a far more effective cleric if you allow him to pass his test, it's usually why I end up having him go LG if he's in my party.

I was using him yesterday - first off, did the unseeing eye quest, which netted a few xp and the gauntlets of dexterity - then did the slavers compound building - first off, anomen gave me some undead to engage the bad guys with - the glazebu (sp?) and the efreet ended up fighting with each other because one or other attacked Anomen's undead with an area-effect spell and made the other creature hostile. so a few wounds to the enemy there. anomen then tempted the g to attack us in the LH front bedroom - he was depleted, could get through the doorway and just had to scrap with whoever went to the doorway to fight him. An healed the fighters between bouts and we dispatched the G.Onkel Bob wrote:I strongly disagree. However, I don't use clerics much anyway. all downstairs elements disposed of, we went upstairs.
whilst Yoshimo found and cleared traps so that the party could come into the room, the PC used a wand of monster summoning and Anomen summoned undead to keep the bad guys occupied whilst the party dispersed - Anom sanctuaried himself but was caught in a high-level silence just after, so I kept him away from the action until his voice came back. Jaheira eventually got wiped out trading blows with the souped-up minotaurs (she was AC -6) and Yoshimo nipped into the back bedroom to hide in order to come out and backstab the slower minotaurs (repeatedly).
keldorn, who was still with the party, joined in by first using the heavy x-bow and then his 2handed sword - he probably killed one of their spell-casters before he lost his mind and ran over the traps at the RH side of the stairway which in turn killed him, but that distracted the bad guys a bit and kept them away from the LH room in which the PC and Yoshimo set up base-camp.
Jaheira was surrounded and only had a non-magical scimitar to use once it closed in on non-missile combat, so she got stuck and couldn't retreat or get extracted - so she went down fighting. after J had died - taking at least one enemy with her - the hasted PC threw a couple of area-effect spells (chaos etc) into the fray and ran away - a bit weakened, the enemy then had to fight ogres and gnoll elite which wasted their power and spell resources.
only two enemies down, but all depleted to some extent - Anomen got his voice back and healed himself, then cast blade-barrier and waded in using a +2 mace - the PC finished off the other minotaur with magic missiles and yoshimo started to fire tuigan's bow with fire arrows at whichever enemy was nearest.
Anomen won his melee and the party had won. used the rod of resurrection to bring back Jaheira and Keldorn, looted the place and found Ketta needed to be offed downstairs, where hidden.
typical Anomen contribution, but nothing compared to his exploding or driving away undead in unseeing eye quest.
