1)Is there actually any possibility of pursuing a romance with Valygar? couldn't get him to talk unless I played a single class mage. Even then, I didn't get past the "what was your father like?" discussion.
2) Are you supposed to sleep with Viconia or not? It seems like whatever you do, she chews you out.
3) Are you actually supposed to be able to carry on a romance with Jaheira? I found her tough because of her alleged "neutrality". One thing I found interesting when playing a male character is that if you have Jaheira, Viconia, and Aerie in the party at the same time, they will snipe at each other with some regularity.
4) Related to #3 above, it's interesting to hear the different comments you get when you go to the Temple of Amaunator to bring back your love interest from when s/he had to be killed after Bodhi got to her/him. I thought it was also interesting to note that you can tell your paramour to take a hike after you cure them at the Temple rather than have them rejoin the party.
Any advice would be appreciated.

1. No, Anomen is the only official (non-modded) romance for female characters.
2. Yes, and yes
3. Yes to all. Though note that alignment does not influence romances (as long as your rep does not get too high with evil characters or too low with good characters, as they will leave the party)
As far as advice goes, I'd suggest perusing the FAQ sticky at the top of this forum
Also, you may want to ask one of the BG2 forum mods to put a spoiler tag in your title, because there are several spoilers here.

Um, no one is forcing you to do it.opal_scales wrote:2) Are you supposed to sleep with Viconia or not?
Viconia is not a nice person, and she is not pleasant to be around. If you want her to love your character, you'll have to put up with a lot of griping from her. However, she is a hot Drow elf, so a lot of players can't resist romancing her. Best of all, she enjoys having sex.opal_scales wrote:It seems like whatever you do, she chews you out.
I hope I'm not spoiling anything by telling you this, but Viconia is afraid to trust anyone else. She says over and over, "Trust is for the foolish and the dead." As a result, she has a tendency to push everyone else away if they get too close. Don't be surprised if she tells you that the romance can never work out. But if that happens, don't give up hope--maybe she just needs more time. I mean, think about it--your character is the biggest stud in the entire game, so do you think she's going to dump you and not come back?
In a similar vein, Aerie is not ready for fully committed relationship. No matter what you do, she will ask you to give her more time even as she says she's deeply in love with your character. She doesn't think your relationship will work if you're always hunting down enemies and going into battle and putting your lives at risk, so she would like to wait until you and she can settle down. However, it doesn't take a crystal ball to figure out that your character's life isn't going to become calm and peaceful any time soon (what a boring game if it did).
Unless you have an unofficial patch that allows you to romance more than one NPC, you will eventually have to make a choice because the game officially will only let you romance only one of them.opal_scales wrote:3)One thing I found interesting when playing a male character is that if you have Jaheira, Viconia, and Aerie in the party at the same time, they will snipe at each other with some regularity.
If she and one of the other women (Aerie or Viconia) got into an argument and you told Jaheira to leave the other one alone, then the romance with Jaheira was ended. However, you can still finish the quests that arise from her association with the Harpers (the romance is a separate thing).opal_scales wrote:Are you actually supposed to be able to carry on a romance with Jaheira?
Personally, I don't think the romance with Jaheira is all that much fun. She never wants to commit, she always has reservations, and she never really wants to talk about anything. You need a lot of patience if you want to romance her, and you shouldn't expect too much. She will never cling tightly to you like she did with Khalid.
Good luck!
