A minor question. Dragon Wench recommended me to try the BG series. Since it will probably take me weeks to get myself a copy I've been gathering up some information about the games. So apparently I can transfer my characters from the first into the second game. How does that work for the class kits in BG2? There is no class listing on GB's BG1 site, but other sites seem to fail to mention them.
So I'm guessing it is not possible to become a.. totemic druid or whatever in the first game and carry it over into the next? I don't fully understand how they work yet, but ifthere are mod solutions to this I'm all ears.

The kits aren't available in the first game, but BG1Tutu is available at Pocket Plane Group - Bending Baldur's Gate 2 and the Infinity Engine , it's a conversion which basically allows you to play BG1 with the BG2 engine, thus allowing use of all the kits.Tricky wrote:A minor question. There is also BGT over at SHS which also allows you to transition from bg1 to bg2.

True, and for something like a mage or a fighter I'd definitely suggest this approach. But where druids or, and also bards, are concerned I'd much prefer a kit if beginning in BG1, since these two classes are (in my opinion) not very interesting to play in their vanilla forms.weak-ling wrote:Or you can simply start off as a normal Druid in BGI and then select Totemic Druid while importing your character into BGII.
Admittedly, the kits make a huge difference to all classes, I find a kensai, for example, much more interesting than a heavily-armoured warrior, but with druids and bards the kits are even more significant to fun character development. Just my POV anyway.

I think I'll go with Tutu, it looks like an interesting little software gadget. Plus there is something to say for the consistency it introduces. The procedure does look a bit complicated though. I'll figure it out once I find the game.

You can also download "Easy Tutu," which apparently makes the install and application much less complicated.Tricky wrote:I think I'll go with Tutu, it looks like an interesting little software gadget. It does, but these things can be a learning experience as well. I would like to observe how this.. game version will be patched together from two different installations. It should prove to be interesting.
