Hi there,
I started the OC with a Warlock, which turned out to be not that much fun at all. I feel very much that the Invocations are generally rather wimpy and useless for their level, just compare Dark Foresight with Premonition and Utterdark Blast would be actually usefull if it stacked with itself.
And now I heard that during Act III a Warlock companion will be an almost permanent party member, which futher galls me.
I would like to change my Character into a Bard instead, as I always found them to be quite usefull, yet never seemed to have space for Grobnar in my party.
Well, my obvious question is, can this be done? During the change fro Act II to Act III maybe? I don't remember if I had to add my character from the database when I changed from I to II though. Or is there maybe a savegame editor or console command out there that will let me do this?
HEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEELP!
Tom

There is one way that I know of, but it's geared toward replacing 'broken' ( cheated up so far they can't level anymore ) characters with basically a whole new character. This thread here deals with that. In my last post in that thread, there is a link to a place that explains how this is done. I have not tested this. I don't know if replacing your Warlock character with a whole other class breaks the game or not, so trying this might or might not kill your game.

I have tried the method proposed in this post and have found them to work.
The resetlevels command will strip all illegal skill points (maxing out individual values but not total points) away from the character no matter their current settings.
Doing this to change CharClass, however, will leave the character with that first level of starting class and the inability to max out in the desired class.
There was another message board post (here) which described replacing the character information in one save with that from a different one.

It's better to be a live jackal than a dead lion, but it is better still to be a live lion (and normally easier as well).
