So, I just managed to unlock the door of the Palace of Suldanesselar and I can get in. Irenicus is supposed to be there.
BUT i've left some unfinished bussiness: back in Athkatla, i've yet to deal with an Elemental Lich, a Shade(?) Lich and finally Kangaxx (i should deal first with the two Liches to get the missing parts of Kangaxx, right?). And I haven't been to the Shadow Keep Dungeon (the one added by ToB).
So my main question is: Am I close to the final battle of the game (i guess it's with Johnny Irenicus) and maybe i should go back to Athkatla before going into the Palace?
I think i can go to the Shadow Keep Dungeon from ToB, but i can't go to Athkatla, am i right?
-thanks in advance-

I don't expect a fight right when I enter the palace, there must be some things to do first, because i've found two stone items that must have some use, maybe regarding the Tree of Life (don't let me know), but if i'm getting close to the end it would be better to finish(?) with Athkatla.
Do you think i should finish Watcher's Keep Dungeon before i enter ToB, too?
When the game ends, it automatically makes a final save game with which u start ToB?

deffo do Watchers Keep before heading for the final encounters and ToB - there are lots of goodies in WK that you wouldn't want to do without - also - there are lots of XP to earn and (Spoiler) the chance to raise your stats by 1 point. that alone should make it worthwhile.
there is always the thought about whether to raise the stat of another party member in their prime discipline or to raise the stat of the PC - I tend to keep all the points for the PC except WIS (unless they are a cleric). you may decide against a particular NPC in ToB, so unless you are sure that they will still be with you, keep the stat increase for yourself.
can anybody remember whether NPCs are imported into ToB exactly as they left SoA?
I have shared the experience with a party to get some particular NPCs up a long way - Sir Anomen for one - I would be disappointed if I couldn't import him at his present level.
what can one do about items to transfer into ToB? is the trick to put all essential equipment in the bag of holding for everybody? or just the quest items that the PC uses? what should be done at the very end of SoA to maximise equipment transfer? It'd be a shame for ring of Gaxx, crom freyr, silver sword etc to go missing.
...and on the silver sword - I've only just had it re-forged - does it vorpal properly or is there a bug which stops those flying heads appearing?

Definitely not. If you finish Watcher's Keep, the final battles in Shadows of Amn won't be as much fun. Irenicus was not meant to be a pushover, but he will be if all of your party members have over 5 million experience points.Andurbal wrote:Do you think i should finish Watcher's Keep Dungeon before i enter ToB...?
Also, there aren't any other sidequests in Throne of Bhaal besides Watcher's Keep. It's a very linear game. Watcher's Keep provides a nice break from the main path, but if you already did it when you played Shadows of Amn, you're stuck with a linear game.
If you have already installed ToB before you finish SoA, then you don't have to import your SoA Final Save into ToB. ToB will automatically start when you finish SoA. You will have all of your current items and current party members. Any items you left behind will not be accessible (unless you stored them in Watcher's Keep, which is accessible to both SoA and ToB). If an NPC is not in your party, you can add him or her to your party shortly after ToB begins, but he or she will not be in the same condition as before. (He or she will have a new .CRE file with 2.5 million experience points and a few generic +3 items.) They might act as if they've never met you, no matter what you did in SoA. That's just the way it is.Andurbal wrote:When the game ends, it automatically makes a final save game with which u start ToB?
I agree with VonDondu rather than C. If you want any challenge, don't complete Watcher's Keep before SoA. On the other hand, if you consider your play skill only marginal, then you may want to do a little of WK to gain a level or two and some more equipment. Still, I would encourage you to try to complete SoA without doing any of WK first.
