Mages dagger

Post by Manaja »

Hey,

I've found this dagger with following stats:
1-6 Damage (Mana:10) - and cannot figure out what the Mana:10 means.

I've noticed that after equipping this dagger sometimes at the field where it shows my coins (right above the Combat Toggle button) it is showing somekind of symbol and 10 (that number lowers and becomes 10 again).

Is the symbol/number connected to the Mana:10 bonus of the weapon, even if not.. what does Mana:10 give me? :)

First of all, welcome to Gamebanshee, Manaja. :)

Now, about the Mage's Dagger. Several magical items in Arcanum have the ability to contain mana. The amount of mana that particular item can contain depends on the character's magical aptitude. Every time you cast a spell, the amount of mana used for the spell is first deducted from the item's mana and then from your fatigue. So, for instance, if you cast Harm when you have the Mage's Dagger equipped, its mana will drop to 5, but your fatigue will remain untouched. This ability, however, won't increase your overall fatigue points. The item's mana replenishes with time, so it's not a one-time bonus.
Another item I can think of at the moment with this ability is the Arcane Great Sword, which gives additional 20 mana to the person who weilds it.

Hope this helps. ;)
