I just started a new game and on my second roll I got 34. Is it possible to get any higher than this?
The most I`ve got before is 25.

If you're talking about putting all stats to the lowest they can go and looking at the number of points left to distribute I think I've gotten either 39 or 41 before.

Sounds like he's using my technique - roll all stats down to 10 and see how many "rest" points you have. Ie, he would have had 94 points with his "highest" roll. And yeah, it's beatable. My highest roll has been 40 with that technique, giving my inquisitor an 18/18/18/10/18/18 starting stats. Needless to say, I was quite happy with the roll, and have yet to hear about anyone beating it.

Yes - that is what I mean. It makes you wonder if it`s cheating to use Shadowkeeper to get your starting stats and save all that re-rolling.
I now know that I can roll 34 if I stick with it, so is it really cheating?

Of cource it is. But so is adding mods that gives you better weapons, stats, and whatnot.davfrahen wrote:Yes - that is what I mean. It makes you wonder if it`s cheating to use Shadowkeeper to get your starting stats and save all that re-rolling.

What you have to realize is that this is a single-player game, you play it for your own amusement, nothing else. Nobody is going to complain if you decide to stats your character the way you want it, as long as it's fine by you.
Stats are easy to obtain once you get the hang of it though. I rarely start a character with lower than 30 points, because after all those hours of rerolling I can do it fast and safe and always spot the good stats. :] Yes, I've played this game a lot. ;p
I found that the easiest way to spot a decent roll was to ignore any that had a single digit and just keep an eye out for when 3 stats (doesn't matter whether top 3 or bottom 3) are over 45 - I refined it to not checking if anything was under 11 - so it was all 11+ and 3 over 15 average.
sometimes it takes a while to get the stats I fin acceptable - 18, 18, 18, 18, 15, 3. (non-clerics) the ring of human influence is available quite early on.
it probably wouldn't be too wicked to add 1 to each rather than play WK and if one wanted to be pedantic, one could add points for tomes that you would have acquired in BG1. with all the improvements and items available possible - I have had legitimate 20+, 19, 19, 19, 15, ?25? (RHI = base 18, cloak +2, helm +1, Sword +3 - and i thought there was something else). unfortunately, due to game design, that only really affects trading - so I beautify myself before dealing with merchants and then go back a bit afterwards.
SK is worth using, if you are curious or have some reason to justify changing stats.
