When my multi-class Ranger/Cleric was collecting the tears of Bhaal, I decided to sacrifice one of my party to get the fourth tear. I`ve always done this before and resurected the killed member.
This time, my Ranger became a fallen Ranger and I lost all my spells and became a fighter class. I don`t have a recently saved game prior to this so I`m stuck. Is there any solution to this?
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.
In Shadow Keeper, you actually have to change the global variable (GV), just changing the alignment wont cut it IIRC. Does anyone know which GV need to be changed, and if so what to?
As to the Viconia romance, if that was terminated by the PC's alignment change, then that GV has to be changed too, and maybe others.
If nobody can provide all the answers, then your probably have to go back to your last save before the irenicus encounter.
PS Could you combine the two threads into one Fable?
Distrbution of games, is becoming a little like Democracy (all about money and control) - in the end choice is an illusion and you have to choose your lesser evil.
And everything is hidden in the fine print.
The romance took it`s usual line as per the book. Unfortunately, I hadn`t realised this before embarking on it. The Jaheira romance gives you 200,000 xp after seeing Elminster.
Viconia (miserable prat) is for the rubbish bin from now on!
I`m assuming that I have guessed the right reason for my demotion. I cant think of anything else I did.
Has this happened to anybody before?
The idea of sacrificing a member and then resurecting them is mentioned in several guides. I cant remember seeing a warning regarding this.
I've never played a ranger so not sure on this, but can rangers only be good aligned, like Paladins? If so then it makes sense that sacrificing a companion would cause you to fall, just as it would if you were a Paladin.
Although if i remember a ranger's fall is due to their reputation falling beneath a certain level - check what reputation you are before considering the effects of knocking off one of your companions.
I had Viconia with me (for the first and last time!) so my reputation was deliberately low.
Perhaps it was an accumulation of the two that did for me.
That`s the great thing about this game - even after all this time, I`m still learning.
A possible solution, though I haven't tried it, is to wear the Helm of Opposite Alignment to make you good again. If you didn't start via ToSC, you could CLUA it in. I for one would be interested to know what impact it has on your problem.
