I was stretching the legs of my new Level20 Ninja Lord with the Ice Katana and Nether Rod in Bolen Fields. After a couple of mighty battles, I tried to save my game and then this black screen with a big red border popped up. Now the game won't even run!!!
I know enough about software and bugs that this could be serious. Here's the message:
I did a search (search function is located on the upper right hand side of each page. I went straight to advanced search so it would only return results for Dungeon Lords) and this seemed the most relevant result. I remember when I made a bunch of new armor skins for DL that the game is intolerant if textures are in the wrong size.
Perhaps the same thing happened with the size of the thumbnail in your saved game, through a power interruption or something.

It was painful and I lost a lot of gametime, but I just deleted the bad savegame that was size 0kB and the game started running.

ps-I'm now an excited 21 HuF-Ro Ma BM Bu NL that I will finish the game with, but before becoming a NL, I saved a branch of the same game to finish as a Warlock.
