Discipline combination?

Post by Lukeatus »

If you guys could pick your 3 starting disciplines in Bloodlines, what combo would you make?

Myself, I'd like to have 2 combos - Celerity, Fortitude and Potence, for the most awesome combat character ever;

And probably Obfuscate, Traumaturgy, Celerity.
-A total nightmare - you become invisible, and with celerity, no one would EVER catch you. Not only that, imagine boiling blood and purging enemies while invisible? You'd never get overwhelmed in the game and missions where there are lots of enemies it'd be easy taking them on.

I guess that's one of the reasons the Assamite are so feared.... Celerity and Obfuscate... Wow. Too bad we don't get a lot of clan variety in Bloodlines, even the Giovanni do not use Necromancy in the game. So we wouldn't know how a discipline like the Assamite's Quietus would be in the game. It'd be cool to have a melee weapon that yielded aggravated damage, like the Assamites can create.

Well, if you attack Bruno he will raise some zombies. I don't know the WoD but this is Necromancy or is it not?

You're right - Spoilers

Yeah, Bruno does waken some zombies but that's it.
Other than that he attacks you with the Colt Anaconda and that's it - doesn't use Potence, just Necromancy for the Zombies. I finished playing a Brujah, and this is the first time I fought Bruno. Usually my characters get by the Giovanni Mansion easily with social stats. But I built my Brujah character to be a combat machine, and wow, I bumped all disciplines to 5 - Celerity first, than Presence than Potence - and wow, you kill everyone before they even realize you've been there. The Sabbat mission was very easy.
PS:
I didn't like the fact that if you enter the Giovanni mansion by force, the dodge 3-5 book is not there! Not fair!! Is there a way to get it if you break in?

I fixed this oversight in one of my unofficial patches...

thaum, obfuscate and celerity - my favourites.

if I can have thaum or celerity, I get them to level 4 ASAP - the extra notch is good, but takes a lot of points and there are other aspects to develop.

I like the fact that the timer on obfuscate only runs when you move. good idea - you can lurk as much as you like.

in combat, I don't tend to take much damage, so I would tend to combine potence with celerity.

I suppose celerity and auspex would give you Clint Eastwood / Steven Seagal's firearms ability - combined with Bruce Lee's dodging.
it is an argument in favour of a large-capacity magazine on your weapon of choice - 30 or so well aimed shots under celerity is a good amount of stopping power.

Wesp... What would Bloodlines be without you? 6 years later I got back to playing Bloodlines and it has great replay value because of your patches. A GREAT thank you from clan Tremere... (Spoiler: who by the way didn't end up well in the final nights)

Toreador already has a perfect combo of powers, by the way.

And for the record, the "edit" button in this forum doesnt work : it doesnt load the current contents of that posting.
