How is BAB determined when multiclassing?

Post by agc28 »

I understand what BAB is going to be when you get a Fighter lvl8. I can just look at the chart? But what happens to BAB when it is Ranger4/Fighter4? Is it gonna be the same as Fighter 8? Or How about Fighter2/Wizard2/Cleric2/Monk2? The BAB is certainly going to be much lower, but how is it determined?

Of course. I would never multiclass any char like that. I just want to know the game mechanism.

Base Attack is always determined by the level of the class you are in on the chart, and this is the same for multiclassing. So say you went fighter (full BAB) and wizard (Poor BAB) you would look off of your level in fighter for BAB and your level in wizard for BAB and add them together.

4th level fighter (BAB 4) and 4th level wizard (BAB 2) would be a total BAB of 6.

It doesn't matter the class, extra attacks occur when your base attack is 6, 11, and 16, even if you have seven or eight different classes chosen (though I don't reccommend that you go more than three classes if you know what you're doing).
