Rats

Post by Drake430 »

Lol, have a very unusual question, but where can I find a lot of rats? I want to level up my heavy armor so that when I need to take a lot of damage I can. Unfortunately I have already done the Daedric quest that involves rats(The one where you get The Wabbajack)
I'm hoping for at least seven rats. Also, does it matter how much damage you take, or how many times you get hit?

I also have one off topic question. Is there any way that I can get another character arrested? I'm have a little trouble with Amusei(read my other topic titled The Boots Of Springheel Jak). I was thinking that if I somehow got him arrested I might could get him out of the dungeon:laugh:

Go check out the sewers underneath the Imperial City, there's plenty of rats there, and mudcrabs as well, they somewhat do the same amount of damage that rats do.

Imperial sewers are great as above, also try goblin lairs they keep rats as pets.
I only post with personal exp. So I will not answer anything about the dark brotherhood, and easter eggs.

Good question, but I think it is based on number of times (like with weapons) rather than damage. But I am not sure about that.

Edit: uesp says it works by hits, not by damage.

i found that you can also use very low level summons and piss them off enough (3 attacks does the trick)

the best way is to walk along the shores of the sea near the waterfront in imperial city. there are a lot of mudcrabs there. to make things even more interesting, you can round up four or five of them and let em have a go at you. Cas a few "RAGE" spells on em and have a good laugh.

There is also a quest in the city on the FAAAAAAAAAAAR west on the water coast, i forgot what its called, the one farther west than skingrad, there is a fighter's guild quest to kill rats in a basement. go in there punch one of the rats, and it will attack you. MAKE SURE YOU DONT KILL EM ALL THOUGH, cause you'll fail that assignment if they all die.

or walk around the wilderness to find a wolf (not lion or bear, those two pack a punch) and keep casting shield (30%) or something.

heavy armour training

I found the best way to get heavy armour up to master was to annoy the guy who is always in the chorrol fighters guild training room (basement) he doesn't do that much damage but i seemed to be leveling like nobodies business. Just keep that healing spell you get from the start ready, stand in a corner and let him hit chunks out of you. Worked for me :)

One thing i did miss and you should be careful of is make sure you aren't wearing any reflect damage armour or spells, eventually he dies, and you get blamed for it. well, i got blamed for it. but yes, hes the most effective i found.

SPOILER!!

There is a certain deadra quest where you have to make someone think he has killed you. In that you have to get hit a couple of times until your health is close to zero. The fella who is hitting you doesn't do that much damage and if you can gain plenty of levels in any armor skill, even your block skill if you keep healing yourself. The quest won't finish as long as your health doesn't reach zero.
