Hi all - I'm trying to get hold of KShipman author of Kahleigh's Retreat. I can't seem to get him (her?) by email or PM. I'm having some problems getting this mod to work properly. Does anybody know him/her or where I can contact? Thanks!

Why don't you tell us the problems you are having? A number of people here have used the mod, so we might be able to help.
For example, two things I'm aware of is that the folder labeled "sound" should actually be "sounds," which is easy enough to fix, and if you have any landscape retextures chances are they will sink Kahleigh's Retreat into the hillside.
Another thing to be aware of is that there are two versions of the mod, a Morrowind version, and a Bloodmoon version. I'm pretty sure you need to already have the Morrowind version installed in order to run the Bloodmoon version. I could be wrong though, since it is a while since I've used this mod, so somebody else with a better memory might be able to confirm?

You might try contacting him at the Elder Scrolls forums, where he does occasionally post. I think it's been quite some time since he has, however.
Good house mod, isn't it?

As DW mentioned, I ran into the floating/sinking with this mod and a texture mod I was running,
If your not dead set on running this one..I recommend a not so over the top little house mod called Abu's retreat, also available through many download sites.

If the problem has to do with the sliding glass door cabinets in the main room, that's something KShipman never could fix. I remember a thread about it.
Last I knew, he was coming back to play Morrowind again after having tried Oblivion for a couple of months and found it very boring. But that was about 8 months ago.

Thanks for offering to help! I do love this mod (I had it installed once but computer problems forced me to unload Morrowind and other stuff including this mod) and want to have it again. It's just the most convenient and it has the things I require (armor mannequins, weapon display, and an alchemy lab with a sorter).
Ok, here's what I've done - After I have downloaded the file, moved the knife icon to the data files (the rest of the files being in the Kahleigh's retreat folder made during extraction, double clicked the box in the data files section of the startup screen, then started the game, I encounter the problem. When I go into Caldera (usually through the mages guild), I start to get error messages telling me that it couldn't find these .nif files (such as blue plates, glasses, etc...) and asks me if I want to use a default file instead. This goes on for at least a dozen times if not more before it lets me through the door. When I get up to the home, it shows yellow pieces on the outside of the house. When I try to get inside, I get another dozen or more error messages then the whole inside shows a bunch of yellow question marks/exclamation marks or things like that.
Does any of this sound familiar? I've tried moving the mesh files (in which I found several of the files the program says are missing) to the data files area but that didn't help. I've deleted the whole mod and redownloaded with the same result.
BTW, I do not have BM or TB as yet.
Thanks!

Kahleigh's Retreat shouldn't affect the stuff in the Caldara Mage Guild. I suggest downloading and installing the TES Plugin Conflict Detector. You can set it to compare all your mods against one another and against the native game. Then it will bring up a list of all the conflicts. Most can be safely ignored, but I'd pay attention to any landscape entries--these are potential conflicts between mods that could be causing your problems.

I downloaded it but it doesn't show any conflicts - I only have a couple (another house outside Balmora), Imperial Badge, and a slight change I made to Creeper on the CS. I don't think the problem is with the MG, it just shows up when I enter into the Caldera cell. The MG just happens to be the way I enter into the cell most of the time.
The problem, I think, is how the program is accessing the mod .nif files though for the life of me I can't figure out why! I extracted the files to it's own file like usual, cut the knife icon and pasted in the data files file with the others.

I put it in the Morrowind Configuration file - is that right? If not, then I don't know where to put it. Can't seem to find any .ini files within Morrowind. It didn't seem to have any effect where I put it.
Here is one of the messages that I get
Model Load error
Meshes/KW2/aobg_plate_blue.nif cannot load file in Meshes/KW2/aobg_plate__blue.nif
Will use the default object Marker_Error.nif Yes No Yes to All
I don't know if helps at all. Thanks again for helping me with this! This is frustrating! I feel like finding an orc that is looking to die, beating the crap out of him, killing him, then taking his really nice sword and armor!

This is probably a stupid question, but how did you extract and install the mod?
Sometimes if you go through the whole standard unzipping process the files do not always end up in the correct places. And what you are describing sounds as though you have a lot of missing files..
I find it much easier to install mods manually.

Actually, that string I gave you to put into your configuration (INI) file did make a difference. Because now you're getting the Yes to All option. Click on that, and you should not get any more messages upon loading.CharlieK wrote:I put it in the Morrowind Configuration file - is that right? If not, then I don't know where to put it. Fable - Sorry If I sounded negative! All I was trying to say was that I was getting the same result after I put in the string you suggested.
DW - Think I will be doing that shortly!
MageLord - Yes, I can find that file through the pathway you put down. The files seem to be there, but for some reason things aren't linking up correctly.
