Ingredient Sorter

Post by CharlieK »

I've been looking for a mod that will install an ingredient sorter in whatever home you have. I know there are several house mods that have this but am looking for a mod that does only this.

There is a modders resource called "Ingredients Pots and sorter". Does anybody know if this can be used as a stand alone mod or is it ONLY for people who are making mods?

Thanks!

It's a modder-only resource.

There is a test cell but if you give me some requirements I have scripts and everything prepped for such a mod.

Thanks Fable!

ML - what I want is exactly like the sorter/alchemy lab in Kaghleigh's Retreat - jars (it had them for the expansion packs too but I don't need those at this time though it doesn't hurt to have them), and the mechanism to get them sorted out. Beyond that, if it had the equipment all the better but those can be ummm...found...um...quite easily in various places throughout the game.
Thanks!

So you want to be able to pick up the pots?

Sorry, I wasn't really specific was I? No, I don't need the pots to be able to be picked up. I just need to be able to walk into the lab, click the button, pet the kitty, whatever, and voila the ingredients are sorted into the pots.

Right. So you want it in a house somewhere?

Yup, in a house would be nice! :) I imagine it would be tough to have a mod just for the lab and be able to put it in any other house mod, wouldn't it?? I don't know anything about building mods but I imagine it would be hard.

My ideal house has the following:
Alchemy lab with sorting mechanism
Weapon display w/weapon rotate
Lots of mannequins for displaying armor
Storage chests/crates etc...
Recalling device to get back to the house. (Wish I had the expansion packs so could use the multi-mark mod).

Beyond that, I don't have any other requirements. I love Caldera since it's close to the mage guild (I always complete their quests because of Trebonius's Amulet) and creeper but with the mark/recall and a recalling device for the house it doesn't really matter.

Hope that helps! Thanks!

That was actually attempted by Vorwoda the Black, about 3 years ago. The ingredients sorter was going to be sold by a merchant. As I recall, it was going to cost somewhere in the neighborhood of 60K to 100K--which I pointed out at the time was very high for people who weren't finessing the system. I was told everybody did finesse the system, and that was that.

Unfortunately, Vorwoda got sidetracked with work situations that called him away, and as far as I know, he never returned to finish this.

If all you want is an alchemy lab you should check out my mod at PES. There's a link in the mods thread. You have to be Arch-Mage to enter but that doesn't take long and you can always disable the door if you want to get in before. It's in vivec mages guild, a few steps away from the transport to Caldera.

I'm currently caught up in a few projects so anything else would take quite some time.

ML - you don't have to build me a house!! :) I've actually gotten to the point with my character that I really don't need the lab anymore for this game. I've attained the Boots of the Apostle so don't need levitate, Trebonious's Amulet for Health so am good to go! Thanks though for your time and consideration. Hopefully one day that lab Fable mentioned will get finished or heck...maybe I'll learn to do something like that.

Charlie if you do ever start another game...I've noticed that most of the house mods out there..have the things you're looking for....sorter, displays, chest..etc.
in a range from Ice's Hideaway..very large multiple level house...to the small Abu's retreat....
check the sticky for links. :)

There was also an ingredient sorter called Dogfish's Alchemy Lab, it was an unfinished work in that it wasn't set in game, you have to use it in your mod. I can't find a working link atm but if anyone wants it give me a PM and I'll mail it to you.
