major thief guild problem, HELP

so if any of you are still familiar with the last thieves guild heist in the palace:

i was in the palace after going through all of the sewer work. and i came across the monk sitting by the lever and i remembered there was no blood price for this mission. so i said what the heck and shot him with an arrow. however then all of the monks came out and without thinking i killed them all.

afterwards i read the walk through on this site explaining how a monk gives you the scroll in that room. so i tried sitting in the chair and waiting it out a couple days and still no one gives me a scroll.

so now im thinking maybe if i leave for a while the whole thing will "reset". but when you jump down that long shoot back to the sewers your boots go away.
so even if i come back to get the scroll i wont be able to get out because the boots are gone and i will die from the fall.

i have no clue what to do. any ideas asap would be much appreciated.

Try leveling up a lot to survive the fall then going back and maybe the monks will have respawned. Oh and I know Fable is going to say this soon but next time be sure to put SPOILER in the title.

well i killed everyone in the castle basically trying to level up.

now what?

When my character was level 23 I could survive the fall without using the boots. (That means I know it can be done.) So try getting a few higher levels and fortify health and acrobatics before the fall and you should survive.

well the thing is im at level one.

i basically just started the game. i just got so into the stealing stuff that i vowed to bypass the main quest until i finished the thieves guild.

by the way i purposlly got arrested to get out of the palace. then i went through the old way all over again and i cant get in through the door under the giant statue because i dont have the key anymore.

so i was wondering if there is a way to sneak all of the way up the palace from the main entrance so i could try this whole thing over again?

Try finding the Gray Fox. I'm not sure if there will be a dialogue option to say that you failed but that may be your only option. If your playing on PC there are codes to skip parts of quests but since I don't play PC I don't know the codes. Maybe ask around members on this forum or do a search for the code on Google. well im workin on a ps3 here.

and before i did all of this i went down the shoot, lost the boots, and talked to him and he said since i dont have the scroll "we have nothing to talk about."

Time to load in an older save game

Sounds like its time to load in an earlier saved game before you went into the castle.

no earlier save point unfortunatly.
and i read up on google and apparently this is a very common problem.

so i just started a new game, oh well. i mean i was nt really that far. plus all of the skills and such weren't thought out.
here we go again.

This time make sure you have a high acrobatics/athletics score this time and try to make the jump without the boots on. Also if you do pull off the heist and finish the thieves guild quest kill a couple beggars until you get asked into the dark brotherhood. Their quest are alot more fun than the thieves guild quests.
