But you get 4 new trainers, a bunch of new items, pirates you can command, and a monthly game income as well.

I actually think the income is weekly, I could be wrong though.

It's a Monty Haul--but that doesn't make it a good play. ;)
To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

I did a write up in another thread on this, and I guess most peeps aren't sharing my enthusiasm.....yes, it's not some long quest with missions etc, BUT it is something new and beneficial. 8,000 gold a month is nothing to sneeze at when you're just starting out...New players should love this...and the training chest helps in a HUGE way with leveling up on security.. :) Some of the spells and potions offered up should come in handy as well.

HAHAH that is funny. The first time I used the thieves den I saw the security and sneak dudes fighting. I ran over to them to break it up. A few of them fight on occasion. I love this plug in. I just recently found the speechcraft guy. YAY

There are actually 6 Skeleton Pirates, not five, did you find the Pirate Captain? Spoiler follows, highlight to read:
Spoiler
Once all six are dead, you can upgrade the cave on a ship moored in Anvil. This enables you to hire five trainers/shopkeepers. The fence has (IIRC) 1500 Septims, which is better than most, can train you in Mercantile and often has useful things to buy, including lockpicks. The Fletcher has very little money, but sells decent bows and arrows, and can train you in Marksman. The other three also have hardly any moeny, but sell useful items quie often and cn train you in Security and Speachcraft. The upgrades cost a total of about 6,000, but depending on your level, you can earn either 1,000 or 2,000 a week. I wouldn't call it monty haul, the initial 'treasure' amounts to six cutlasses, which aren't as good as the Blades Katanas, but the cave makes a a good base of operations and stash (there's two non-respawning containers in the captains cabin).
End of spoiler.
