Imoen expierience
I have just rescued Imoen from spellhold........... and she only has 400k exp ?? last time around she had 1.2 million. I can tolerate her being a few levels behind but this is rediculous ?? what went wrong ??
edit : my team is at around 1.8 million each

There is no way that Imoen could have 1.8 million XPs just from Irenicus' dungeon.
While I haven't looked for verification 400K XPs sounds correct.

Actually there are two different Imoens, which one you get depends (as far as I know) on your PC's experience.
When you take a look at Shadowkeeper, you'll find (among many others) an Imoen211 and an Imoen213, those are the two possibilities you can get. As you can see, the former has 400k XP, while the latter has 1.2m, is two levels higher and has some more spells in the spellbook. I haven't seen any good in-game explanation why, but for gameplay, you can easily see the benefit.
I'm not sure about the exact condition to get the better one, but I'm pretty sure it has something to do with the PC's XP (not the rest of the party). Well, you can always get her some extra XP through Shadowkeeper, and maybe there's also a CLUA-Command for that - do a search and you'll see.

Sorry for not replying for a few days, the Internet crapped out for the whole weekend
. Anyway she can spawn at 1.2 million, thx thrar for supporting this. Now I know it wasn'nt some weird fluke last time around. I guess I'll just have to shadowkeep her the extra 800k. anybody know what causes her to spawn at either 1.2 or 0.4 ?? I normally don't cheat like this but the game is leaving me no choice
. I just want to know for next time so I know at what exp I should get to spellhold. however it can't possibly be higher then what I had, I did Everything possible on the mainland. Perhaps it is class dependent ???? I'm a paladin now
From what I can tell, the game looks at the average level of all of your party members. If you have a solo 13th level character, Imoen will have 1.2 million XP when you meet her in Spellhold. If your main character is 13th level and you have another party member who is 12th level, Imoen will only have 400,000 XP. If your main character is 14th level and you have another party member who is 12th level, Imoen has 1.2 million XP. My guess based on these results is that Imoen has maximum XP if the average level of your entire party is 13th level.Jedi_Sauraus wrote:anybody know what causes her to spawn at either 1.2 or 0.4 ??
I don't see any formulas in any of the scripts, so it appears to be hardcoded into the game. As soon as you enter AR1512 (the first level of Bodhi's maze), "Imoen2" is spawned. If you use a cheat code to get to that area in Chapter Two (bypassing all of the dialogues), the result is the same. Somehow that room detects your presence and creates Imoen accordingly.
Then her XP are not based upon what she racks up from Irenicus' dungeon.
That is very interesting and surprising.

You could argue why she should have that much XP. When you leave Irenicus' dungeon, she has around 200,000. After that she has been imprisoned. Where did she get the remaining 1,000,000 XP, I wonder..? A bit through her version of 'the dream' perhaps, but I think the PC gets 50,000 or 75,000 for that.
While it sucks having a party member far behind level wise, I on the other hand never bought into the whole 'magically gained XP' thing from a RP point of view.

Of course, there are mods which can be installed to overcome this feature. I'm using a mod that evens the XP in a way that every time NPC joins the party, it checks the XP of PC. If the NPC is behind the PC more than 300,000 XP, the NPC get enough experience to be no more than 300,000 points behind.

What about with dual classed characters? I'm going to save her with a Berserker 9/Mage 12 and Anomen (Ftr 7/Cleric 11 -- IIRC).VonDondu wrote:Only if he is in your party when you first enter the area where your party's average level is calculated. crap, I was really hoping I could get her at a higher level mage than my protagonist. I should get her tonight and I'll let y'all know what happens.
(maybe I'll do another quest or two to get my level up so I grab her at 13).
Since mages get a proficiency every 6 levels, what extra proficiency does Imoen come with if you pick her up at 13 as opposed to 11?
