2 ?s: items disappearing and...

Okay, my 2 questions today are:

The items in my chars inventories keep disappearing. Like, I had this fire mace thingy and when I reloaded once, it was just gone. The picture was still in my quickslot, but it was in none of my chars inventories. Reloaded again and nada. Just now in Leldon's hideout, I dragged the cloak from Neeshka to my main char and when I went into main char's stash-POOF!- it just wasn't there anymore. Not on floor, not in any char's inventories, no one is wearing it... At the beginning of the game I thought I was just loopy, but it's getting ridiculous! I've looked on the forums here and on ign, but I don't find anything.
Anyone know if this is a known bug?

Also, can druids not dominate animals anymore like in NWN1? Like on the radial menu there was an option to, not dominate, but I forget the word. Then the animal would join your party? I always play druids first and I kinda miss this.

(Then, more of a comment, I'm having trouble believing that there is NOTHING to search, like barrels or chests, no one to really talk to unless you have plot issues with them, can't go into any houses unless you have business in there. Even the tombs, Oleff said "Don't disturb the tombs", but you didn't even have the option of deciding if you wanted to raid them or not. This game is SO unexciting if that's the case. I'm getting over the whole camera issue, but they took out a lot of the fun of the environment.

I think I had that bug as well, but if I recall correctly, the items/inventory transfers to another character in your party. It was quite some time ago that it happened, but I managed to fix it. If I find out what I did I'll let you know.
