Before you do anything with mods, I wold enjoy the game as it was meant to be. It will be fun with mods a second time through, but for now, just sit back, relax, and enjoy the game.

As for story, not really. KOTOR 2's story is separate from KOTOR. In terms of how good the story is, KOTOR's is much better, in my opinion. The sequel have quite a number of plot holes enough to make you feel like things don't add up at times.

In terms of gameplay, it is much better. If I recall correctly, the level cap has been increased to Level 60. There are some new force powers but nothing out of the ordinary.

Not that I know of but you could try GameFAQs. I've browsed through 2 game guides, one here and the other at Gamespot, and I have yet to come across any hidden items at all.

P.S. Hello and welcome to the forums, Frank.

GB has a great walkthrough/guilde for the game, and you should utilize it, but again you may wish to wait for your second time through, or until your stuck. Just try not to uncover all the plots and stuff, or I think that might make the game less fun. It's great for Dark side/light side points too.

As for kotor II, It's a fun game. Alot of nice features and a great level on (I forget that planet with the round bar and lots of NPC's where it doesn't tell you exactly what to do or who to see or where they are) It's must have if you like the first game, although it is a bit anticlimatic, the stuff in the middle is worth it. Besides its pretty cheap now anyway.

I couldn't disagree more! If it wasn't for the last chapter being butchered and an entire planet being scrapped, I think it'd be superior to 1 in every way. The Exile is a way more interesting and complex character than Revan, and Kreia is just awesome. Your followers are much better as well, especially Visas. The extra force powers and influence system are great too. There's also a lot more room to be evil, so instead of having to kill most of your followers if you're evil, you can make them join you! And turn them into Jedi!

But yeah, it does lose major points for being so incomplete and buggy, but I look forward to seeing the restoration project finished. The only thing that would make me happier is Kotor 3 :p

Oh really? Not that I'm badmouthing the game or anything but do you think everyone will like KOTOR 2's story? It's complex story might appeal to some, but at the same time turn off some players as well. I fall into the latter camp because I'm not a fan of complex stories. Unanswered questions floating around during 3/4 of a scene only to be explained near the end? Not my cup of tea.

Not to mention that the story seem to revolve around Kreia rather than the Exile. It's as if she is the star of the show instead of the main character. What kind of story is that? Might as well make Kreia the main character instead of the Exile.

Influence system is good, I agree, but it still have flaws. One wrong answer, and that person will sulk for a very long time. You can't get much out info of him after that.

Team members being much better than KOTOR? I don't think so. They still have AI problems that plagued the first instalment. Running into mines is a constant headache and most of the time, they don't even know how to fend for themselves during a battle. Always have to babysit them just like the good old days of Rainbow Six. I detest that.

Of course it doesn't appeal to everyone, nothing does! I was just stating my own opinion. I disagree that it centred around Kreia though. A lot of it was her interaction with Exile, and her manipulation of everyone else, but in the end, it was all about the Exile.

When I said the characters were better, I didn't mean in an AI sense, I meant they were better as characters. I just liked them more. The only two followers in 1 I actually enjoyed talking to were Canderous and HK47.

I forgot to mention Bao-Dur as well, I really liked him... though that may just be because his voice is so sooooothing.

The influence system is a bit tricky, (and buggy really) but as far as I'm concered it beats the hell out of having a bunch of goody two shoes following you around despite the fact that you're totally evil. That never made sense to me.

Still, I think comparing the two games is pretty moot, since Sith Lords has a serious handicap what with the insane amount of cut content. It's fine if you don't like complex stories, but just remember the questions are unanswered because they didn't finish the damn game.

This thread is getting waaay off course. Since the person who asked the original questions has gotten them answered, thread's closed. If you want to argue which game in the series is better, there's already a thread around for just that.
