Ch. 5 in the Underdark *spoiler?*

Post by a hygh guy »

So I entered the Drow city disguised as a drow and I just been sent to the mind flayers lair to rescue someone, so I'm not done dealing with the drow. The problem is that I've turned back into my normal party and a drow warps in and talks of trechery blah blah blah. My question is has this happened to anyone before? I thought the disguise would last as long as I needed it to. If i go back to the dragon will she do it again for me? And even if she does will the drow city be hostile if I go back there? Is it possbile to still continue the story too with the drows being hostile? I know I will find this all out eventually I'm just stuck in the mind flayer lair right now  . Just wanting to know what to expect when I get out. Thanks in advance guys.

To rescue this drow you don't actually need to go within the Mind Flayer layer itself, just outside of it. It's an optional area, if you want it to be. If you have meetings to uphold with other drow, be there on time, otherwise you'll be discovered, as you were. When you return to Adalon, she will NOT renew your disguise and everyone within the city will be hostile. It IS possible to continue the game without even setting foot into the drow city, as such, it is possible to continue with all the drow being hostile.

It is actually a lot easier to kill everyone in the drow city than it is to clean out the various lairs in the area (mind flayers, beholders, kua-toa, etc.). It's not very realistic, but I guess you can rationalize it by saying that all of their best warriors are away fighting a war. If you can get back inside the drow city after they have turned hostile (I don't know if it's possible; I've never tried it), you should kill them all and try to find the eggs for Adalon. You will miss out on the various quests that were available in the drow city, and you won't be able to buy anything from the merchants there, so you should consider reloading if you have a saved game that will let you do things over.

I haven't played it exactly how you have, but the dragon has disguised me a second time when I have needed it to do so.
