haer'dalis and weapons

Post by mcgregor »

hello

i currently have haer'dalis in my party and am coming to the end of soa. i've had him duel-wielding weapons all game, changing to better ones as i get them. he currently has celestial fury and the red scimitar, from the quest mod i think. he's just got UAI, and i am considering giving him casomyr instead. i realize he'll get less resistances etc than he would with 2 weapons, but casomyr is a pretty nifty weapon. can anyone recommend either one way or the other? i know there is more good single handed weapons coming up - anruvendal (which i have definately spelt wrong) and the axe of unyielding come to mind as weapons that only he in my party will use.

He has 2 stars in short swords so short swords are a good choice for him. But other than that he can pretty much use any weapon effectively. Dont forget to have him singing the enhanced bard song.

I don't think carsomyr is worth it. For dealing damage the number of attacks per round is important.

I usually have him (or any blade for that matter) dual wielding Spectral Brand +5 and Scarlet Ninja-To +3 against casters and Scarlet Ninja-To +3 as well as Belm +2 against everything else. Cold damage goes through cold skin while the second combo produces five attacks per round.

I second that.

And don't forget the buffing spells that Haer'Dalis can cast on himself.

I think Kundane is a better off-hand weapon for haer than belm.

True, but as a Blade I prefer Belm as I come out of BG1 with Drizzt's Scimitars, should I choose to keep them.

why that, it does not grant him an additional attack like belm, the speedfactor is afaik not that important, the only + is that it is a shortsword

Kundane +2 DOES grant an additional attack per round.

Wow. I didn't know that. Looks like it would be a great weapon for Mazzy, too.

with ***** in short bow, surely Mazzy is best disrupting enemy casters with rapid fire shooting?

I give her sword of the mask for close-up work, but there are some good bows for her to use.

I quite like her with Ravager +6 in tob, but that's another story!
