Voice Problems

Hello! I just installed BG 2 on my computer,w anting to play it again, however, I have a problem with the voices.

The parts where characters talk to you, not "conversations" but where their model speaks and has subtitles over their heads, etc is all messed up.

For example, in the very start when jon irenicus tortures you, lines such as "ahh the child of bhaal has awoken" are not read aloud, rather jon is silent and subtitles float over his head. it's not just this part either, the golem that tells jon about "more intruders", jon's encounter with the wizards, and the tutorial are also broken like this.

Commands for characters are also incomplete, imoen, minsc, the hero, etc. When I cick on them, or tell them to move or something, the sound is fragmented. For example if the character would normally say "I'll do my best" I'd get "-----my best" at a low volume.

I'm running windows XP with an nvidia gforce 6600 with an amd athalon 64+

any help would be nice.

make sure you have the latest patches.... if all else fails, uninstall and reinstall the game and try again.... you saved games should still be there upon reinstall.

I have the same thing, no amount of re-installing helps. I think it has something to do with automatic speed adjustment.

I just updated my sound card drivers and it was fixed
