Hey all,
I just got me this game, and its great.
But I have some questions I Couldnt figure out.
1: The question of questions. How do you make money? Ive done some quests, Ive played some dice.. but quests run out. Im left with 2.5K right now. Any way to make a standard income? Like raid a crypt every x days?
2: Respawning. Ive read that places respawn. How long does it take? Does every place respawn? Do the dogs in the streets of Chapter II respawn?
Does the dice money on players respawn?
3: Ive noticed that the inventory can not contain swords or sutch. Is there a way I can transport swords I have found? Im having the feeling im missing a lot of money because I leave all the swords, axes, daggers and other equipment.
4: In chapter II, I helped Siegfried. He helped me get into The Dike. And first I could also trade with the Order Forger and Order Trader. (those 2 guys near the Hairy Bear). And now all of the sudden Im not known to the order anymore. Why is that? Any way I can get their services back?
5: Alchemy, the big thing is this game. I have found several ingredients. Some have 2 materials. How will I know witch material will be used? I once tried to make a swallow potion, and I put together 1 beast fangs (IIRC, they only have Vitrol), 2 times an ingredient with only rebis, and I used another ingredient that contained both aether and something else. Somehow it choose aether. I did not have the formula yet, I did not enter it as last ingredient. I just placed some alcohol in the slot, and than the ingredient containing aether and something else, and aether came up. Why?
6: I have found some valuable ingredients like Barghest skull and some kind of fang. What are they good for?
Cheers all,
Badboyd22

1. Sell books after you've read them. Sell excess ingredients. I don't think there's one good way to make money, just a lot of little ways.
2. Respawning takes place about once per day. No everything respawns. No idea about the dogs.
3. Nope. You just get those four specific weapon slots, so you can do a little bit of weapon selling, but not a lot.
4. The Order and the Scoia'tael are fighting. So if you help one the other will like you less. The Scoia'tael has a blacksmith in the non-human part of the Temple Quarter. He should deal with you if the Order won't.
5. For items with two materials, the second material is only used to give potions bonus effects. It's not used in the recipes. You get the bonus if all of the ingredients have the same second material.
6. To sell. Some (like the ones you've listed) are also used in quests.

1: Nice, I have lots of books, I was afraid to sell them, thinking I might needed them one day.swcarter wrote:1. Sell books after you've read them. Sell excess ingredients. I don't think there's one good way to make money, just a lot of little ways.

2: Well, Ill just see about the dogs
3: To bad...
4: So I probably did a quest to help those Scoia'teal.
5: Good to know. What bonuses are you talking about? Longer duration? Another boost?
6: Nice, I have like 30 barghest skulls left, and all quests are done.
Thanks for the answers swcarter.

The bonuses are described in the alchemy section of the manual. I only ever tried for the albedo bonus, which reduces toxicity.badboyd22 wrote:5: Good to know. What bonuses are you talking about? Longer duration? Another boost?

You can only put the extra weapon in the third slot. What I did is collect a weapon that I fancy, then dump them at the inn (to sell in the future). Not a very efficient way, but hey, at least it's better than nothing.badboyd22 wrote: 3: Ive noticed that the inventory can not contain swords or sutch. As what SWC had mentioned, helping a rival faction like the Scoia'tael will sour your relation with the Order. Not to worry as you can still get another chance in Chapter 3.badboyd22 wrote:4: In chapter II, I helped Siegfried. He helped me get into The Dike. ''They say truth is the first casualty of war. But who defines what's true? Truth is just a matter of perspective. The duty of every soldier is to protect the innocent, and sometimes that means preserving the lie of good and evil, that war isn't just natural selection played out on a grand scale. The only truth I found is that the world we live in is a giant tinderbox. All it takes...is someone to light the match" - Captain Price
Never thought of that way of transporting weapons. Good idea. I never use the axe I keep there anyway.DesR85 wrote:You can only put the extra weapon in the third slot.
