Actually...You can get both wizard hats. A guy on the Lionhead forums found a way - I tried it and it worked - You use the Hero-Save Glitch - and just a little side note, in my opinion I think this 'glitch' was deliberately put in the game, it talks about it on the bottom of page 2 of the Guide/Manual that comes with your game - so don't feel bad using this Hero-Save glitch, because it's not cheating. However, just so you know, I won't use it - but that's just me.
Anyway, here's how it's done - Do the 'Find the Archaeologist' Quest. Make sure you don't have any books on you. Now, during the quest, teleport out to anywhere you like.
Now, technically I thought that if you teleport out while doing a quest, it will end the quest and you would be reloaded to the last save before the quest - that's what normally happens with quests, which is why I was a little suspicious about this working, but for some reason it doesn't happen with this quest - you just carry on normally, which is great for getting both hats.
Now go and get either a set of bad books (In Oakvale and Bowerstone South) or a set of good books (Heroes Guild) depending on which hat you want first, but don't mix them - either good or bad. Then go to the teacher, give him a set of books and get the hat. Now, you're still in quest-mode, so make a Hero-Save and reload the Hero-Save - you should be reloaded to the last save before the quest, only now you have a wizard hat. Now you can get the other wizard hat by giving the teacher the other set of books - again, don't mix them, only good or bad. This is basically using the Hero-Save glitch with the hats.
One last thing - I've tried this and it works the normal way - no mods or trainers needed. Oh, and I should also mention that this was done on the PC version.
And just to prove that it works, I've attached a pic - enjoy:

I'll fight to the end, I will not bend
Through pain and torture, I shall not falter
With Dragon n' Sword, I'll burn every horde
Evil will fail and Justice prevail...

I heard of this. I thought it was tested by someone here and confirmed as not possible.DragonPaladin wrote:Actually...You can get both wizard hats. A guy on the Lionhead forums found a way - I tried it and it worked - You use the Hero-Save Glitch

Sure - A trainer is faster, but I just wanted to point out that you can do it without mods or trainers. It can be done normally, but if you want to use mods/trainers, be my guest.badboyd22 wrote:I heard of this. I thought it was tested by someone here and confirmed as not possible.
