The McCain campaign announced Palin and everyone else involved in troopergate will not respond to subpoenas in the investigation. This is a tactic perfected by the Bush administration.

Is this legal? Will there be consequences both legally and electorally because of this? To me it reminds me to much of the politicization of the justice department and Bushes contempt for any sort of oversight.

Apparently she turned around and decided to cooperate yesterday. Wonder who told her to do that? I would have loved to see an APB be put out on the wannabe VP. I'm sure the police officers of Alaska would gleefully have complied and dragged both her and her husband and their dog in front of the judge.

That particular interview has caused Palin to be even more thoroughly raked over the coals on this side of the Atlantic than she already has been. While scouting around the internet I've read several comments by actual Republicans stating they'll be voting for Obama just because of Palin, though I've no idea how representative that is, obviously. IMO, it was not McCain's wisest move to make reference to his "Maverick Running Mate" in last night's debate...

Honestly, Palin is such an utter dimwit that she makes Ronald Reagan appear cerebral and intellectual... You know it's frightening when..

Honestly, and can not understand how Amy Poehler manages to keep a straight face during that. I wouldn't have stood a chance.

I said many posts ago that Palin's nomination was a possible act of panic, as no other candidates where available. Hell, most of the republicans are either dead and embalmed or so senile they can't remember their own name. The interesting thing is that we get Palin, then a huge economic crisis. Now they're talking about digging up 700 BILLION dollars, and hand them out to the financial sharks who caused the crisis! Not to the little people who are losing their houses and jobs. Where are they gonna find that money? Bill Gates? USA is virtually bankrupt after 8 years of Bush-economy, and now this? I have been wrong before, but I really can't see McCain winning this one.

Indeed... I think this is what has raised so much concern.. Those interviews are like something straight out of Monty Python. In that context, they would be funny... Except this is real life, and as one commentator put it.. if McCain won she'd be only one heartbeat away from becoming president.. scary stuff indeed..

I also have to wonder just how self aware Palin is. I mean, I suppose there was some justification for Palin to say that the "Liberal Elite Media" were roasting her because of her politics... I mean to think that somebody aspiring to be VP of one of the most powerful nations in the world actually believes she has a grip on foreign relations because she can see Russia across the water is the stuff that nightmares are made of.

The only reason Cameron has good poll results is that he's not dour like Brown, but grins a lot - (just like Tony Blair before the rigours of office got to him and wore the grin into a forced grimace). Cameron has a mean little mouth when he's not grinning. But people like him.
