En core is French, means "one more time!" - you shout it at concerts and such if you like the stuff :D

I don't know many words in Spanish either. A few I would get banned for :D

How come one always know curses and insults in any language? :D

Hey Blood. I ended up going on a long search to find out just what Ole means. I speak spanish, but I couldn't think of a meaning other than "It smells." and I knew that was wrong. It's a dance from Andalucia (where Flamenco comes from), but the word originates from Arabic--uallah--and literally means "For God." It's the cheer used in the bullring, but you probably knew that.

*makes the final tap of the set* STOMP!!!

Thanks Bloody for the permitted substitution.

Whew! Need to practice more. VooD dances great --- shows a lot of aura of "feminine firmness" the way she moves, I say... :)

Isn't the Flamenco a courtship kinda dance?

Anyone knows how to dance the Swing?

Har, HAR! Muy bien, muy bien!

My Spanish isn't great, either. But if I remember correctly En core's counterpart in Spanish would be Otra vez.

On Speedy: I thought he kept on saying "Andale, andale! Arriba, arriba!"

Oh, and by the way, I hope you won't mind me converting the basement into a place where I can conduct some, shall we say, 'secret experiments' (just like old times  ) :D

Hello Brink :) How nice to see you here - but shouldn't you be studying really hard instead of spamming here? :D

Thanks! This is from an article about what Flamenco is:
Gypsies would gather together to share their gifts of song and dance amongst themselves and to release some of the tension and frustration of their lives. This gathering, centered around flamenco, is referred to as a juerga. Most importantly, a juerga must be spontaneous, and the expression of emotions must be free and unrestricted.

Only amongst these conditions can the most important element, duende, be present. Marion Papenbrok describes duende as,"...an irresistible power which possesses an artist only at very special moments and which leads the participants in such a reunion to such a state of ecstasy that they are lead to rip their clothing, seem indifferent to fatigue or hunger, or are given to unrestrained crying or even aggressive actions." Duende is the aim and the purpose of the juerga. Juergas are about removing yourself from everyday life; reaching duende provides this passage.

Because a true juerga is not planned or forced, it does not begin in full swing, but rather is coached from the inner recesses of its participants. Typically, juergas begin with a group of people enjoying food and wine. (FABLE'S PANCAKE & SPAM EMPORIUM!) The participants may be close friends or strangers. Conversation is the mode of expression, changing to song and dance as the participants' emotions become more involved. The mood can move from light to heavy, and the music and dance follow suit. Juergas continue into the night, often times until the morning or longer.

Sound familiar?
<STRONG>On Speedy: I thought he kept on saying "Andale, andale! Arriba, arriba!"</STRONG>
Yes, indeedy. Andale, andale! Arriba, arriba! means "Let's go, let's go! Hurry up, hurry up!"--very apropos for Speedy.

End of Flamenco dance climaxes in duende ecstasy. Rips off clothes, sobs uncontrollably, pulls out long sharp knife specially named Speedy Gonzalez, and demands from Fable some pancakes and Spam and a shot of tequila!

Strange ending to the show...

Spamcakes, coffee and Flamenco for breakfast was great - now it's soon time for me to go to work.

Early morning classes are much worse when you are the teacher than when you are a student - you have to pretend you wouldn't rather be at home in bed  :D

 You know, I have a knife just like that. [offers bankcakes, topped with tequila-flavored syrup] It has sentimental value to me--it was my grandmother's. Is there anything written on the bone handle of yours?

Hiya CE :D .Sorry about leaving without notice yesterday; my connection was horrible, so much so that I just gave up and went to do something more meaningful in real life(tm) :) .Anyway, I'm having a week off before my exams resume (btw, my Biology exam is two weeks from now, so I'm not that worried yet :p )

Well, I'm right here. When the place empties out, I just press this button and the roof and walls roll retract. Then, I can watch the nightskies in quiet.

Glass has to be cleaned regularly. So does air, but there's a natural cleanser called the eco-system which has been doing a pretty good job for a long time.

I've decided to do something very different, tonight. We've rented and shipped in the Roman colloseum, and we're going to have the winners of the Eurovision Song Contest over the last ten years fight it out to the death on stage. I think that should lend a touch of something quaintly antique to the Emporium. :)
