LOL

When you said he should get it looked at, I didn't realise a microscope would be required...

Yes, the shortening disease seems to be progressing faster than we originally intended...I mean, than we originally thought it would.

As slow as things have been, I have had way too much time in the archives and came upon this gem..
And it lead me to think...perhaps a little spice is wha SYM is needing.
So lets hear it, Tell Aunty Scayde the truth...who here has been naughty and who is nice...
Momma always said "Be Good"
But Daddy said "If you cant be good, be good at it"

I have nothing funny to tell about cybering and myself, since I only have experience of the real thing, but I read a funny studyl the other day, with some surprising results:
A Swedish university has made a study where people who use dating sites on internet have answered questions related to dating, dates leading to sex and cyber-sex. Somewhat surprisingly, at least to me, it turned out that elderly women was the group who most often had sex on the first date with people they had met on internet, and the group who had most cybersex were younger women, and they had far more cybersex than the males.
Many women described that cybersex was the perfect means to live out fantasies they didn't dare to live out IRL. Exhibitionism, S/M-fantasies, role playing....you name it. Maybe we should start a SYM video chat channel?

I hesitate to call my actions "cyber sex", but I guess you could say I have engaged in it before. It was more like flirting than an actual simulation of sex, though. I haven't done it recently with anyone except my boyfriend, and I don't expect to do it with anyone else anytime soon.
Sometimes talking to people I know in an intimate way is a turn-on to me. Sometimes talking to an interesting stranger about
anything is a turn-on to me. My boyfriend has always been very clever and funny, and that's a turn-on in itself. But graphic descriptions of sex acts and other bodily functions always seem kind of silly to me, because I just don't think that what we imagine and write are really all that similar to the real thing. It always seems phony, contrived, and forced. Most of the time it is also vulgar and clumsy. It usually makes me wonder, "What's the point?" (Simulations with live actors in movies is a completely different matter, because at least in that case, it's physically "real".)
Real life is much different from our fantasies and expectations. Even though we might feel stirrings of passion because of what we experience in front of our computers screens (or in front of books, TV screens, etc.--I don't deny it happens), when we actually meet someone in real life, a lot of other things besides our imagination are at work. If I were "available" and looking for a new partner, I wouldn't try to meet someone by "cybering". If I were alone, I wouldn't use "cyber sex" as a substitute for the real thing. I don't think I would use it to "explore my fantasies", either. I think the problem for me is that I can't suspend disbelief (I guess I'm too practical and skeptical), so again, my reaction is, "What's the point?" If my fantasies are deficient, it doesn't bother me.
On a related note, I've never posted a picture of myself on the internet or described myself physically in any detail to anybody I didn't know. I have nothing to be ashamed of, but I just don't feel comfortable with that. I wouldn't expect anyone who didn't know me to take anything I said at face value, anyway (although the world is full of suckers), since, "On the internet, everyone knows you're a dog."

Oh no!

A serious reply! Please don't reverse-spam the topic! Serious threads being turned into spam is bad enough, but spam topics being turned into serious ones is what
really makes baby jesus cry.

Back in Ancient Babylonia, we had a saying, "Whatever floats your garden." (NOTE: This is actually a punning reference to the Hanging Garden of Babylon, considered one of the Seven Wonders of the Ancient World. Go on, laugh it up. I won't mind.) I think that sums it up, nicely.
On a related theme, I've read somewhere that studies show the incidence of suicide in North Dakota--an extremely cold, rather remote state in the northern plains of the United States--have dropped since the development of computer chat services, etc. If cybersex serves to keep somebody's dreams being desireable both physically and mentally alive, over a severe winter in the desolate state, then all the more power to it.

*giggle*
That is hardly surprising actually. Some people argue that cyber communities can isolate. While there may be some validity in this point, I think that the net can also work to forge friendships (or relationships) that would not otherwise be possible.
*cough* though regarding cybersex, I can also think of various advantages: no viruses if you have a good firewall, no worry about pregnancy.. and for men... no worry about the need for little blue pills...

Besides, think of what you can do in the absence of gravity
