If we're still talking about Eldritch Prodigy, then the advantage was (quoted):
"+40% Thaumaturgy damage and duration".
While I still stand by the allowance of major movement for Blood Bolt and Blood Salvo, I have to say that this history makes the Tremere more offensive, also allowing less blood to be drained from the target, as it is killed faster. I don't think that the duration part really matters as the one discipline that uses it can simply be reactivated (not to mention that it already has a quite long duration).
Technically, you get about (I think) 38% to Thaumaturgy damage from Daimonori, which almost replaces the history. Assuming that this item and the previous version stacked, by the time you get it, you should have had 78% to your damage and 40% to your disciplines' durations.
The thing is, while the damage increase is beneficial in boss battles, it's kind of inefficient for blood recovery purpose for the reason I mentioned earlier and the fact that the killing blow, doesn't return any blood (perhaps this can be altered so that the killing blow from Blood Bolt and Blood Salvo DOES give blood?)
