I don't know if this is suitable but what about the idea of releasing an expansion pack that will install content removed during KOTOR 2's development plus content that will fill most of the plot holes in KOTOR 2? Could be offered as a free download or could be purchased at a low price.
That, in my opinion, will give Obsidian (if they're developing KOTOR 3) less headaches about filling the plot holes in KOTOR 2 and focus totally on what KOTOR 3's story should be.
mhm...about an expansion pack, that would be suitable, but alot of people would not like the idea of having to pay for it, many would lose interest. i would in my opinion. **and if you get the expansion pack, you would have to play the game all over again, which is a pain.**
also, im not permitted to say where i got the information on the date. (note- late 2007 to early 2008)

Looks like both you and me have something in common. I also don't fancy replaying a game after finishing it. One hit wonders, if you ask me.
However, in this whole forum, there are apparently quite a number of members who replay the game more than once and, to be honest, gave me quite a shock the first time I signed up here. I met one who replayed the game like the 16th time.

I won't query you further if you're asked not to divulge any further information.
In fact, if you look around at Gamebanshee's KOTOR 2 section, there is a news article mentioning about Obsidian trying to secure an agreement with Lucasarts to develop the next KOTOR. The source came from Total Videogames. In my opinion, the source looks authentic enough, though I would still subject it to further scrutiny.

I completed swkotOR 1 and 2 several times, each time another alignment, completed each game like 5 times, and i am now busy on another safe.
But i wouldn't like some expansion pack or something, I'd rather have the developer to complete the game fully in one time.

I dont understand how some people want to play as Revan again. Yes, he and KOTOR were amazing and had a good story, but what kotor2 did was set up a storyline from another person's point-of-view. i believe that k3 should continue to do that, starting off as revan is too easy to do. as a party member, it would be cool, but not to start out with. it would be nice to discover the exiles and revan's past and create their futures.
O.k, as I have read in threads that have to do with k3, I have noticed, that many of you want to play as Revan again, Why?, What do you see in revan that is so great? Why would you want to play as this Charectar, I want some Honest awnsers, not some kind of, 000 R3vaN Has 133t powers, or revan is so cool, nothing like that. I want awnsers that acctually explain why.
I want Revan back because i'm curious: where is he and what is he doing? And why did he become a Sith lord first time (Kreia said he didn't fall to dark side but had some master plan )? And what treat is he preparing Republic for? He is an unfinished story and I want it finished as much as i want to hear him explain me all that I've been wandering since he left. Honest enough?

I agree, Obrad. I also want to know what happened to both Revan and the Exile after the events of KOTOR 2. They could explain it via a CG/Real-time cutscene to give a better picture of what really happened when Revan left for the Unknown Regions as one example. Same goes for the Exile's reason.

Revan.. playable!
I think that Revan should be the main playable character.. His lightside ending, dispite the fact that there is a darkside ending.
I agree with a previous poster: The real story is about Revan's redemption, rather than his second fall. The KotOR series seems to revolve around Revan, the exile, the "unknown threat" that they both decided to leave known space for, and the preservation of the republic (which stands thousands of years after the game, in the movies). If Revan's DS story is continued it ultimatly would end in the fall of the republic.
At the beginning of the story, you should be able to pick your level 20 Revan's powers, and begin in the outer rim with 100% LS alliance. If you want to add in a dark side element, then perhaps you can fall again, and try to posess the teachings and conquer the galaxy.
To make game play more interesting add more skills and reason to put points into them, as well as more feats and possibly more jedi powers (like beast control, stat boosting powers, or passive powers that make you critical more often.)
I think the exile could easily be killed off with little effect to the story, or perhaps he just never ends up finding Revan and wanders around like a nomad for the rest of his days
Either way, regardless of whether or not Revan is playable or not, the story should revolve around the unknown space, and the finding of the unknown evil that resides there. Candorous tells you a story about an object that speeds away in one of his mandalorian war stories he tells you.. maybe an allusion to a greater technology or race ever seen before?
Anyways, a little bit off-topic but my 2 cents. *my first post too*

well the way I see it Revan can't really come back either could the Exile....as they were PC's their faces were chosen.....and Revan's face was chosen aside from when he was evil and was hidden behind a mask......this fact would conflict with what people chose their said faces in I & II and if Revan was LS in I......Revan only has one choice were he/she to come back in III and that is evil because of the mask....otherwise Revan isn't the Revan the player chose in one.
*Spoiler*
I personally don't care for Revan or the Exile because in kotor Revan was the most powerful Jedi....and the only reason he was powerful was because he was a Sith...or so the game made him....being lightside he lost most of his "power"....and in II the Exile isn't really powerful at all cause the only reason s/he could feel the force again was through Kreia. So i don't really see what's so great about the Exile....granted I would like to see how their stories ended but I don't really want to play another game that revolves around them.
also KOTOR only revolves around Revan as he's mentioned in two games where the Exile and True threat is only mentioned in one. The True Sith died out a millenia ago according to KOTOR and II load screens.

Well, why not settle for preset faces and voices? It wouldn't hurt. After all, it will be nice to see both Revan and the Exile have voice overs (including the main character). Personally, I wouldn't mind if they (the developers) chose this method. Can't see any harm here. Wonder why people's personal configuration of Revan and the Exile will get in the way?

Desr85 your my PAL!OK I apologize if I break a rule or something!(Note this is not an attack or anything of the sort.)I believe if you guys really want new characters go play different games because I think the idea of KotOR 3 will be to in one finall game bring together Revan and the Exile into one finall fight against the true sith. 3 games is the right amount for this trilogy and why would you want different characters go play jedi nights 1-3 if you want something else I am not very flexible to be honest so I could not accept it if they had them as characters not in your party so answer me this:Why is it so imperative that you play not as Revan? He is from (IMHO) the best RPG characters therefore I would not be dissapointed if he were in your party and Exile was the main . Tell me if i'm wrong but you guys don't want Exile,Mandalore, etc. back correct you want something new correct?
Mandalore will rise again!!! http://www.freewebs.com/agentsmith23/
The reason I want to play as Revan is the same reason why you want to follow Anakin Skywalker in Episode III or Luke Skywalker in Episode IV of the movies. This is STAR WARS people.......... it runs in TRILOGIES!!! If you don't want to see Revan again wait for the next trilogy. But if Revan isn't the central figure it would go against the true essence of STAR WARS!!!
Good enough answer???
Good enough answer???
I don't want to play as Revan or the Exile again as the MCs, but I never thought about having them as party members. That wouldn't be too bad, considering you'd probably have to edit the appearances of them, so it'd be like having 3 MCs. Ha can't believe I didn't think about that before now.

Anakin's story is neat, the talking sucked in Ep II, tho, but the basic story of his life was good. I wanted to follow him in Ep III alone, Ep II was a winey brat, and Ep I was an annoying little kid. In Ep IV, V, and VI I followed Luke, so you're right there.

the entire Star Wars saga was about Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader not so much luke Skywalker. The whole basis was that Darth Vader was to bring balance to the force, which at the end of episode 6 he did, by killing the emperor and turning back to the light(and dying). Episodes 1-6 was his story...
That being said...
Reven = Darth Vader
The story revolves around this character... I think if we have a 3rd KotOR it should be about him/her. Now that I think of it.. They could easily have multiple main characters... play Revan, and the Exile feels the force through him by creating that bond he's so good at... Bring back all the characters we know and love, and bring the story to a complete end, I'll be happy.
Unlike all you people who seem to want a new main character.. I want closure to the story that... really lacked closure after KotOR 2...
My first experience I had with the series was actually KotOR 2... After playing that I HAD to play 1 because I was incredibly interested in Revan's story... Now I want CLOSURE!!! /cry.
Honestly, if the developers that take this project on gracefully end this trilogy ill be entirely suprised. BioWare is not going to be doing the story, and if it gets picked up by obsidian like 2 was, we are in for another rushed sequal...

I wholly agree with you. I did mention the idea of playing as Revan, the Exile and the new character but in certain parts of the story back at the sequel vs. prequel thread so that it will give people the chance to play from three different perspectives.

Don't blame Obsidian, blame Lucasarts. They rushed the development for KOTOR 2 in order for it to be released before Episode 3. Anyway, I'm glad they learnt their lesson and started being more patient when releasing games.
