SYM Diplomacy – The Quest for World Domination...
Builds and a player needed
Fine, Aegis retreats OTB, saving him the trouble selecting an army to disband.
Builds are as follows:
England: 2
France: 1
Italy: 1
Russia: 3
Turkey: 1
There are also rumblings of an insurrection occurring in one of our powers. I need a volunteer lead the coup. I won’t identify the country until I have a new player, but the game is early and this nation is not in a bad position.
Some advice people: RTFM. I'm sure some of you submitted incorrect orders that still read as legal moves, but were not as you intended them. It's not fair for the GM, who knows the game as well as sees all the orders, to ask you "is that really what you want to do?"

I agree with the RTM comment - the game would probably look a lot different if people had figured out how to attack properly. Keep asking questions, make up hypothetical situations if you must, or just ask Waverly how to do what you want - unless he's in the pay of Russia, that is
Or you could ask Foul...

WTF? I don't respond, because I was unable to within a day, and I get booted from the game? It would've been nice if I had a little more than a notice on the thread, possibly a PM or email or something. It's hard to order a retreat, when I have had no access to maps, or even the past orders in the last day. Basiaclly, I was able to see what had happened, but I was not able to respond at the time, or even read them through fully.
Also, with the combat thing, it would've been nice if when I asked someone to clarify the rules to me, that they would've told me that I had to support and invading army. Instead I was just told to send the army/fleet to the same country. Basically, in this turn my entire game plan got completly FUBAR.

I suggest you calm down you little twit. No one booted you from the game, and I checked and made sure you had been on the board several times since I requested a retreat. It should not have escaped your attention that I attach maps for your convenience.Originally posted by Aegis

As for your moves, I suggest you re-read my statement above. You submitted legal, if unwise, moves. I’m here to facilitate, not give someone an unfair advantage by suggesting moves for them. RTFM!
As for the insurrection, it regards a player who contacted me and stated they would be too busy to continue. Is that OK with you, or do I need to run these things by you to make sure your little feelings won’t be hurt before administrating the game?
Edit: Kameleon, yes by all means ask me questions. The one thing I can't do critique your strategy, which is what I would have to do to turn one set of legal moves into another, better set.

I'm not saying you should've warned me about this. I'm p/oed because when I asked for help in understanding the rules earlier, I was not told, by anyone, that I had to support the army, instead of moving it there.Originally posted by Waverly

Bloodstalker: You are in. The king is dead, long live the king.
Aegis: For the last time, no one held an all encompassing tutorial; the rules were linked multiple times for that purpose. The rules go over every aspect of the game, and several people would have been willing to answer any specific questions. Pages 7 and 8 go over support in great detail.

Um, who is out? Does the King bit indicate Dottie? Or what?

I suggest you review this thread for various rule clarifications, and support is especially important to get correct.Originally posted by Bloddstalker
cool, I am in.....uh, who am I?
In the meantime, I will try to get up to speed, and begin reading the manual. Is there anything I should know right off?
Whoever you are, it's more than likely you haven't been active enough. Like Dottie said, an army isn't for digging holes
Indeed, BS will be the Kaiser and not the king per se. Nippy has auctioned off the lowlands his fleet got lost en route to Denmark, bit with some cooperation from neighbors it need not be a bad position. Get talking... and I still need builds from a couple of you.

I suggest you take advantage of Foul's offer to help then. I can offer help with mechanics, but certainly can't critique moves once I have those of the other powers.Originally posted by Aegis
@Waverly: I had read the rules, and not understood them fully, thus I had asked for help in a general sense, on the combat aspect of the game. The response I received said nothing about supporting your attacking army/fleet. It only said to move you armies/fleets into the country you are invading.

hmmm also how can you conquer the one building stations or not?
As in want to control Picardy right next to belgium, what can i do to make it blue on the map, or it can't be controlled?
