@Sleep When, if ever, is it good to suffer from lethologica?
Mostly i would say that lethologica is detremental but occasionally it can be useful, for instance in a court case, your boss who pays you a very good wage has been embezzling, and you say to the judge and jury "Sorry i can't answer your questions, i suffer greatly from lethologica, it is almost at a chronic level and i am afraid any of my bosses alledged embezzlement is unbeknownst to me, in fact i am not even sure where i am, excuse me..."

There are other plusses to suffering from lethologica, things like having neuroscientists in skimpy attire examine your neurological condition would probably be quite fun.

So i say take advantage of it, it could be worse you could always not have a brain at all ;)

OK-Ill buy it. I can tell you werent 100% sure of what the word meant, but you had some comments that could apply.

Do you want me to define the word, lethologica?
“Caw, Caw!” The call of the wild calls you. Are you listening? Do you dare challenge their power? Do you dare invade? Nature will always triumph in the end.

Dolby 5.1 is definately the best, if properly set up it can create all the effects necessary for the interaction of the viewer. It has the Front rear and over the top, all vital components of "real" sound. There are also very few other acceptable set ups, THQ just doesn't have to capacity to cope with the necessary oscillation levels.
And how would you say Dolby compares with DTS and SDDS? :D Since all of these systems use surround sound...
It depends entirely on opinion, i would say it is a form of explanation for evolution, interestingly Kubrik uses Monoliths as a kind of evolutionary push, they are the necessary component to push the species forward. Where these came from is never properly explained, their origin could be divine or extra terrestrial, what happens in the movie is just a method of portraying this component. Plus it is also an excuse for Kubrik to exert some visual trickery
And how do you explain the ending? :D

Between those systems there is probably a small difference, since most movie theatres now use 5.1 anway it is questionable

The ending merely displays a possible ramification of evolution and how this highly evolved creatue is coming back to show everyone the way.

Sorry Sleepy, you don't pass on this one. :p The 2001 answers were as good as can be expected though :D

I could come up with better, but i am tired...oh and the DTS SDDS thing, well i could probably have done better with research and my first answer was fairly good, but I am afraid the rest i am clueless on :o :)

@Georgi: If you have no further confusion about the meaning of the movie, you don't have to reply - I just wanted to make sure you had seen my reply. Seems like I and Sleep have about the same understanding of the film.

@Sleep: The mind-brain problem is the classic question of how the mind is related to the human brain. Is the mind simply the same as the brain? Or is the mind (with sense of self, self-awareness, intellect, moral and all) a product of the brain? Is the sum bigger than the parts, so to speak? Or can the mind be entirely reduced to physiological processes without loss of meaning? Or is the mind something more than the brain? Perhaps something partly or wholly outside and independant of the brain? If so, what? That's a little outline of this classical philosophical question, and while you are at it, explain consciousness and self awareness since it is related to this issue anyway. ;)

ROFL :D

@Sleepy really, it's not something you'd know unless you were particularly interested in film projection, so I figured it might stump you :D

@Sleep Do you despise me for giving you these difficult words? :D If you want me to stop, I will. But I have enjoyed watching you try to guess the words. :D
