Well, In morrowind I downloaded a mod that gave you familiars, really cool stuff, and I started using it, and then I decided to change the mesh to a penguin mesh. And now I have a penguin familiar that is a crazy spell caster. I had to roleplay it off, so:
My Character is the Archmage now, and he got that way from researching everything he could, and thats how I want my mage in this game to be. Just a mad scientist delving into alchemy and just general experiments into the crazy world of magic, knowing a little about everything, able to cast some nasty spells. In the game I would steal peoples spells from their minds, and the way I justified a penguin spell caster is that of my mage is so into experimnenting that he wanted to see if he could alter an animal into a companion worth of fear. So he took the least threatening animal on Solstheim and brought it to the head offices of the mages guild where he imbued all the spells he had stolen from Telvanni mages into the penguin.
Basically, I want my Penguin to be a crazy experiment that worked. I want my mage to have been the mage that was in the "research" part of the order and always tried crazy things, hence my attempt at summoning an ice bridge to kill the minotaurs. Is that good enough?
