"Feels good to be back in my skin." He walked up to the hierophant and clapped him on the back. "I was wrong about you hierophant, you are a good man afterall. You are a worthy holder of this title. Also, I owe you, you can recall this favour when you choose to, it will remain for life, I have run from crowds before, but I am too weak after my earlier efforts of taking the spell for Tway, I could never have survived. I shall remember this hierophant."
Going back to Tway and Sh'rarn, Kron briefly summarised the rumours he knew, and the sailor's reactions. Sh'rarn then showed him the map which he had been given before. "Well, we have a map and rumours, what now?"

As Kron charged in and pleaded his case, Tway couldn't help it when a smile touched her lips. Whilst she had no wish to see any harm come to the Drow, she couldn't help but experience some mirth at his expense. Besides, the priests wouldn't let any harm come to him... right? A quick illusion spell and the trouble was passed.
"Aye, we have all the information we can garner here in Baldur's Gate, perhaps a powerful wizard or sorcerer could give us more, but the arcane services never come cheap, and if you gentlemen are at all like me in that respect we have little coin." She paused, giving the Aasimar and the Drow time to react before continuing. "Methinks we would be best off getting aquiring passage as soon as possible, for a ship may be docking right away." Pleased with here perspective, Tway crossed her arms under her breasts and waited again for the men to reply...

Sh'rarn thought it over, "I know of no wizards in Baldur's Gate anyway, so it would likely be best to inquire about passage..."
"Wait", the hierophant interrupted, "I know of someone who could help, free of charge. Mayhaps he will be able to scry what is happening on Sterenear."
"Oh? Who is this wizard? And can he be trusted?"
"Yes, yes he can. He is a good friend of mine. His name is Tiro Abonnen". The hierophant then gave directions to the wizard's abode.
"This could help. Thank you." Turning to Kron he said, "that crowd is probably still searching around the city looking especially for cloaked figures. It would be best if you stayed here for now." Kron was obviously reluctant, no doubt partly due to the treatment he received the last time, but he nodded. "We'll be back later on", Sh'rarn said to both the hierophant and Kron.

"Very well, as much as it pains me to miss out, I realise it is probably for the best. Besides, I'm sure you want some time alone, without this bothersome Drow. Now, seeing as I'm going to be cooped up here, would you mind if I were to use your library, and perhaps practice with my crossbow?"

Responding to Kron, the hierophant answered, "Of course, one of our acolytes shall show you around."
"Right, we better get going" Sh'rarn said, "have fun, Kron".
Leaving the shrine of the Red Knight, Sh'rarn and Tway walked to an unfamiliar part of the city, carefully avoiding the crowd who was looking for Kron and checking under people's cowls. If they reacted in the way they had to Kron that who knew what their reaction to Twaynith could possibly be. Sh'rarn definitely wanted to avoid anything like that happening.
10 minutes later they arrived at Abonnen's tower, a grand affair with many perched statuesque gargoyles and other decorative features. A bit too grand for Sh'rarn's taste. Knocking on the door prompted a servant to answer who was obviously recluctant to show them to his master. Mentioning the hierophant did the trick though, and they were shown to a study lined with books and a small fire burning away in an elegant fireplace.
"My master, Sh'rarn of the Red Knights is here to see you. The hierophant of the order sent him."
"My thanks", said the wizard who then dismissed the servant. "So" he stated, "what do you want?".

Tway had never been inside a wizard's den, and there were no shortage of suprises for her as she walked down the ornate halls. Shifting paintings, hunting trophies that actually made the sounds they had in life (One of a lion nearly had her scream) and countless marvelous artifacts, all with their own wall niches, ancient swords and staves, and no shortage of weathered tomes, it was only Tway's deeply ingrained sense of politeness that stopped her from reaching out and touching these strange items, at last she came to the wizard.
After hearing him speak, she responded, before Sh'rarn had a chance to reply. "We seek information about the isle of Sterenear. The Heirophant of the Red Knight of this city told us you were an accomplished wizard, any informatin you could provide us with would be welcomely recieved..."

Kron walked around dumbly as a tour was given by the acolyte. Finally it concluded and he had free reign. Heading towards the archives, Kron started search on Sterenear. He found the basics about it easy enough, but other information was harder to come by. He learnt of the histories of the dwarves, humans and elves. An interesting part was some of the possible entrances to the kingdom, to be used if he got the chance...
And with that done, Kron waited.

Sh'rarn was a little surprised that Tway had interjected but that was mostly what he was going to say anyway. Anyway, she always seemed to be full of surprises.
Abonnen replied, "I can scry for details on the island and perhaps find out more information than you already knew, as a favour to the hierophant, of course".
Sh'rarn nodded, "Of course".
The wizard directed a servant to gather some arcane materials including a scrying bowl and he moved his arms around in an complicated arcane gesture. The bowl filled with water lit up and images became clear. They scrolled too fast for any but the wizard to understand though.
After 5 minutes the bowl darkened and Abonnen looked up. "I have discovered this about the island:
There is large army of Orcs camping near the city of Isthiar, planning to conquer the whole island from humans. Humans, elves and dwarves have tried to chase the army away by themselves. The races involved are divided, however and so they have failed to drive the orcs back thus far.
A few years ago, local markets started to get items of the highest quality from Sterenar, made by local dwarven kingdom. It's said that they have found veins of iron and mithril of very high quality.
The local elven kingdom is arranging a great feast for all their elven cousins (except their hated Drow cousins) to celebrate their new king.
The city of Isthiar has also had problems with skeletons and other undead. These problems didn't exist before several months ago".

They still hadn't returned. Kron cursed himself for being found, this was proving far too tiresome. Normally he was solo and he was the action, he didn't like waiting around for others. With no more information to be found, he decided to return to the top part of the temple. After finding an archery range of sorts, he spent his time practising. It not only kept his accuracy up, but served as a way to vent the anger he had felt, once more he waited...

Thanking the wizard, Sh'rarn and Twaynith left the wizard's den. Sh'rarn hadn't expected to gain that much information from the wizard. Walking back to the shrine to meet Kron and decide their next course of action, they were surprised by the angry crowd. This could be a challenge, Sh'rarn thought, if they find out Twaynith is a Tiefling they aren't likely to be forgiving. Running away would only raise their suspiscions.

That's it! This was long enough. He had waited like a good boy. He had looked for information. He had kept his fighting skills ready. But damned if he's going to wait and miss out on the action. Retrieving all his bolts, Kron packed it away. "I'm going out, thanks again for the temple." Once more he had left the acolytes speechless with his idea, but they said nothing as it was his decision.
Now, thought Kron, I will have to evade the crowds. He knew where they had gone, so he set out going to there, navigating between the alleys well. He narrowly missed a major rush of the crowd, all chanting "Kill the Drow. Burn his skin. Stretch his bones. Kill the Drow."
A couple of blocks away, Kron crept steadily closer...

The angry mob approached. Tway was obviously petrified by the crowd and was looking for escape routes but unwilling to abandon Sh'rarn. The mob were waving torches and pitchforks as such crowds were wont to do.
Other people were gathering too, looking through their windows overlooking the narrow street.
The leader approached them and nodded towards Tway. "Remove her hood".
A pair of men wandered up from the crowd as Sh'rarn thought what he should do. Before he could do anyrthing, Tway removed her own hood, surprising Sh'rarn again. There were collective gasps from the onlookers.
The crowd leader shouted, "A DEMON AMONGST US!"

The crowd was thicker up ahead, and it would be impossible to navigate. Pulling out his rope, he used it to scale a small building nearby. With his viewpoint made clear, he could see that the crowd was gathering around two strangers who were blocked in. Suddenly, a hood was removed, and a cry went up about a demon. THAT WAS TWAY. Kron knew that he had to do something, however he didn't want to act rashly, he had to see what Sh'rarn would do.
In memorian: Fiona; Ravager; Lestat; Phreddie; and all of those from the 1500 incident. Lest we forget.
A rumble of dissent went through the crowd. Tieflings were little better regarded than drow here, and the Flaming Fist were hardly going to injerject, many of them had similar views.
Sh'rarn stepped in front of Tway. "STOP! This woman has performed no evil and it is no fault of hers that she has tiefling blood! I vouch for her as a Paladin of the Red Knight and will defend her with my life!"
This seemed to make many of the crowd uncertain, unwilling to oppose a Paladin. Unfortunately many of them still seemed set on a violent ending for Tway and refused to back down.
"You will hand over the demon or suffer the consequences, 'Paladin'".

And now there were problems. As much a skilled fighter he was, Sh'rarn could not defeat those odds, and even if he did, it would forever rest on his conscience, and possibly ruin his standing. It only left one option.
Withdrawing his crossbow, Kron took steady aim and fired, the bolt landing in between the leader's feet, right where he wanted it. The crowd turned, to see the figure on the building. Sliding down the rope, he landed at the ground and kept the crowd's attention.
"Who is it that dares interrupt us in the noble cause of killing the demon?"
"Whilst she has been annoying, I will not let you hurt her while I still stand."
"Begone stranger, you do not know who you deal with."
"No, you do not know who you are dealing with," and with that Kron removed his hood.
Silence followed, until finally the leader replied, "That was foolish. You would put a demon ahead of your own life Drow, why would Drow scum like you care?"
"Why is not important, what is important is that she is not to be harmed."
"CHARGE!"
All at one the crowd charged, and Kron turned and ran. Over his shoulder he yelled, "Flee, meet where we met originally" (not wishing to reveal the information to the mob)
And with that, he was swallowed by the mob giving chase.

Kron's sudden appearance was certainly unexpected, as was his playing the hero role. It was however, welcome and the distraction provided an opportunity to escape. Motioning to Tway to follow they took a slightly different route to Kron forcing the crowd to split. After ducking through side-alleys and even temporarily entering the sewers they lost the crowd. From there it was easy enough to return to the Lord's Table inn.
Kron was waiting for them with a grin on his face. Sh'rarn wondered what this meant for the future.

"Took your time ye did, I've been waiting for a while. Now, I had their leader have a nasty accident, so they will be a bit anxious about finding us, I did not wish to do it, but it was essential. How are you two? Were you attacked or did you escape unscathed as I did? Apart from that, I do not think it would be wise for us to tarry here much longer, anything could happen now."

"We had to be sure we'd lost the crowd rather than leading them here. Fortunately, we escaped unscathed without harming any of them, unlike the 'nasty accident' you mentioned. What was that anyway?!" Though he could surely guess.
"I agree that we cannot stay long, though we should keep low until news of our escapade begins to die down. Then, unless either of you has any other suggestions, we should attempt to book passage for Sterenear".
"And thank you for saving us. Again you exceeded my expectations".

Some time later after drinking himself silly, multiple times he had started to think about his future. What should he do now? He heard that there were rich pickings on some island not to far from here. If only he could get there. He had, idiotacly spent the last of his remaining coin on the beer available on tap. He spotted another of his kin and walked towards him.
A dwarf was seen leaving the tavern with a purse filled with the merry music of coins. A dwarf was descovered unconscious some time later, but of course by that time Kazar was safely at least a mile away from the happening
