Good to hear, good luck with your A-levels! Bristol is a very good uni, isn't it? It seems Kam is having a great time there, although I doubt he will remember anyting of it ;)

Re: Newspeak, I haven't read 1984 since 1984, and I didn't like it, I found it a bad rip off of Zemjatin's "We", which is much better but less known.

Hi Robnark, how are you?

I love Animal Farm. I have an illustrated copy, and it is quite delightful to read it again after a little while. One of my preferred pieces of literature. [/b]

Yep, Animal Farm's a great book, but Newspeak is from 1984 (an even better book, IMO)

Ahah, so you are one of those people that don't like to be asked how they are, so reply minimistically or strangely to discourage the practice? If I remember rightly, our friend CE also carries out this practice. :D

lol, She hates me for doing it I think so I doubt she uses the same tactics. :D

Watch out for her fist btw... ;)

@ Kam, for some reason, the entire school of ours did 9 GCSE's for some reason. Meh. I agree with you though, they do make it harder. It's to make you scare witless and work harder!

Thanks CE, Kam's been telling me about it. I think I might avoid him... :D ;)

@ Boy, I figured we were talking about Orwell as a whole, I heard someone mention '84, and I prefer Animal Farm. *Damn*

LOL! I love it. Nothing like seeing CE being petulant. That must be the Tango passion kicking in. :D

You did, CE? Wow. I am surprised... :D ;)

Oh, by the way, the 1000 barrier is broken. Yay!

I don't want other people finding out where I live before I do, though... ;)

@Nippy - don't worry, you'll soon come round to my way of thinking :D

EDIT - What 1000 barrier?

1000 posts in this thread.

By thinking, do you mean stumbling to lecture after lecture, reeking of drink? Sounds good to me. :D

It is quite difficult to come around, but I bought a decent copy from Amazon.co.uk recently...they had two different translations, but I don't know which is the best one...
