Nope neither is solved.

The dictionary riddle hint: There's a measure of distance in the word.
John was watching the television. Just after the midnight news, the weather report came on saying "It is raining now and will rain for the next two days, however in 72 hours it will be bright and sunny." Immediatley John said "Wrong again!" He was correct, but how did he know?
My guess would have been: John's living somewhere very, very north (Alaska maybe) and its' deep winter. It's stays dark 24 hours a day, so it can't be bright and sunny during that period That would also make it more believable that he shouts "Wrong again!" inmediately.

By the way, I would quite like to know the answer to the 'white/blue hat' riddle

I think he answered the weather report riddle. It was because the report was at midnight and the time it referred to (in 72 hours) would also be midnight. So it'd be dark. :p

Yes, he did. Yes, he did that quite some time ago :p
I just wanted to point out that I think that my answer is a better one to this riddle, but that is just my opinion.

Well, I'd say your answer would be better if the riddle was different. I say the keyline 'Just after the midnight news', so it stands to figure that the answer involves midnight. However, if that bit was excluded, then one could use your answer.

As for Ravager's, I have absolutely no idea at the moment.

Ah, I didn't read the 'midnight new' part. When you skip through riddles that fast, you can miss stuff like that. Yes, then the official answer is okay.
Don't know about Rav's Riddle either. But I have a new one:

Cedric lives on the 7th floor of a high building. Every day, he walks to his work and back home again, even when it's raining. When he walks back home, he uses the elevator. However, if the sun is shining, he only takes the elevator three storey's high, and then takes the stairs. If it's raining, he takes the elevator all the way up to the 7th floor. Why is that so?

by Ravager
Because the stairs only go up from the 3rd floor?

Hes very short and can only reach the third button unaided. On rainy days he uses his umbrella to push the button

@ch85us2001: That is correct
A classical one:
You have 6 matches (or toothpicks). Use them to form 4 equilateral triangles of the same size.
(no cheating: you can't break them in smaller pieces).
I know! It's a3-d equalateral triangle!

I'm hoping people are just forgetting the existence of this thread rather than wanting it to die... :( :p

Maybe a new riddle will help:

What is the noblest musical instrument?

And name dropping helps too. Right Venom? :D ;)

If you had only one match and entered a COLD and DARK room, where there was an oil heater, an oil lamp and a candle, which would you light first?

Pst... If your reading Ysh, don't answer. I know you know it. ;)

I suppose that one was simple enough ( ;) )... it's now almost three in the morning. Nice, Lestat.

You take two apples from three. How many apples do you have left?
