Is there really any need for the talons any more?

My girlfriend lives in england, i have many friends in england, however i have next to no friends that would class themselvs as english here where i live.
As they all hate us and try to hurt us, but when i went to england everyone was very plesant to me even though my accent is quite different to that of someone who lives in newcastle. (as my accent is blatly northern irish)
