Sorry I'm so late with this update. I spent all of last week putting new tile in the living room and dining room, and barely had time to do anything else. Of course, it didn't help that the computer was moved into the family room, away from the phone jack. I fear my lack of research will be reflected in my week 13 score....
But in Week 12, Tybaltus narrowly escaped having a perfect week when the Bears shocked the Broncos. He was then cursed to also lose the Monday night game, though his pick of the Giants was kinda inexplicable.... But he was the only one to pick the Cowboys to beat the Panthers, so he sort of made up for it!

Well, that wasn't such a good week for picks. I guess it was lucky that the DCI forums went down and those guys couldn't post their picks! I think the rest of the season is going to be just as hard to pick, with some teams rising to the role of spoilers and other teams with locked play-off berths resting their primaries. In particular, I wonder about:
Tampa at New Orleans
Washington at NY Giants
Dallas at Philadelphia
Oakland at Pittsburgh
Seattle at Minnesota
Houston at Jacksonville
Cincinnati at Baltimore
San Diego at Detroit
Chicaco at Green Bay
Indianapolis at Tennessee
Miami at New England
NY Jets at Buffalo
and KC at Denver
Okay, there are only three games I'm not worried about. I'm fairly sure the 49ers, Panthers, and Rams will beat the Cards, Falcons, and Browns. Whew!

Here's a funny tid bit from a guy in my office pool (he's a die-hard Green Bay fan living in Texas amongst a bunch of Cowboy fans)

A review of my thought process for this season...
Pre-season: Dallas sucks.
Week 1: Loss to Atlanta. Dallas sucks and will lose again next week.
Week 2: Surpise win over Giants. Dallas sucks, got lucky in Parcell's return to New York.
Week 3: Bye week. Dallas sucks and won't have same motivation to win in New York next week.
Week 4: Win over Jets. Dallas sucks, Jets suck too.
Week 5: Win over Cardinals. Dallas sucks, but everyone beats Cardinals except Green Bay. Wait'll they face Philly next week.
Week 6: Win over Eagles. Dallas sucks, but getting wins over weak teams. Eagles suck. Cowboys due for letdown loss.
Week 7: Win over Lions. Dallas sucks, gets another win against a crappy team.
Week 8: Crushed by Tampa. Dallas sucks and as expected got whomped by first good team they played.
Week 9: Win over Redskins. Dallas sucks, but again beats crummy team.
Week 10: Win over Bills. Dallas gets lucky against struggling team, but, I guess, their defense is good.
Week 11: Loss to Patriots. Dallas keeps it pretty close against New England on road. Hmmm... maybe they don't suck.
Week 12: Win over Carolina. Okay, they're now 8-3. Must concede they don't suck. Will pick them next week.
Week 13: Trounced by offense-less Miami. Suck, suck, suck, suck, suck!
That there; exactly the kinda diversion we coulda used.

Lots of good games and close calls this week. Colts/Titans, Fish/Pats, Bengals/Ravens and Jets/Bills all should be close games. I'm looking to make a late season charge to move to the top of the cumulative standings.

Well, Idioteque padded his lead in the cumulative pool, thanks to some wise picks and a lucky win by his favorite Chargers. Other than that, its a close pack that follows him!
This week looks to be a little kinder to us, with only a few questionable games:
Will the Seahawks continue to lose on the road vs. the Rams? Probably.
Can the Steelers steal the game from the Jets at home? I don't think so.
Will the 49er's smacking of the Cards last week translate to a win over the deflated Bengals? Maybe.
Do the Cowboys suck as much as their detractors think? Can the highly variable Redskins capitalize on their last win? I'm thinking yes.
Will Fiedler's aggrivated knee cause the Dolphins to sink while the Eagles fly high? Even at home, I think this will happen.

Scayde, Scayde, Scayde. Your blind trust in the Cowboys would be pitiful if you weren’t so gosh-darned cute!
Truthfully, that was one of the hardest games for me to pick this week. Dallas has been in a slide, and hasn't performed well on the road. But Spurier's skins are playing their second-string QB, and their offence is lame-o. I look for a low scoring game that could be a toss-up. But I had to pick one!

Regardless of her looks, blind trust in the Cowboys is pitiful. America's team.........give me a break. They're still a bunch of talentless whelps who only found early success because they were held together by the best in the business. No........not Jenna Jameson, Bill Parcells dummy.
But even now it seems players are losing faith in the Tuna and collapsing as a result. They've been shut out twice in the past five weeks and laid a miserable egg on Thanksgiving day, at home, to a mediocre, at best, Dolphins team. Of course, their rotten turkey day performance pales in comparison to what my Green Bay Packers did in the first game on Turkey day. But I place no trust in the Packers, I laugh when they win and laugh when they lose. As long as I'm drunk, what does it matter?
Spank me, Scayde, spank me.
My week ??? picks
Lightning over Red Sox
Poland over Banana Slugs
Crimson over .............?
Trying again
Vikings
Colts
Bengals
Chefs
Texans
Pats
Rams
Titans
J-E-T-S
Ravens
Broncos
Skins
Cards
Pack
'Aints
Dolphins (yes, I am aware I just called them mediocre earlier in this post)

Nice to see you back Ned. Esp when you trash the Cowboys
My picks....
Colts over Falcons.
KC over Detroit
NE over Jags
Steelers over Jets
49'ers over Bengals....I HATE Bengals games
Denver over Cleveland
Skins over Dallas
Titans over Bills
TB over Houston
Vikes over Bears
Rams over Seahawks
Ravens over Oakland
Panthers over Cards
Pack over Chargers
Miami over Philly.
Random thoughts:
Are there any great teams? esp in the NFC. The whole conference has gone to hell. Eagles look like the best out of the NFC but they can't stop the run. Rams....well, they got martz to deal with, and Bulger looks plain awful at times.
Watch out for the Ravens. They seem to have found an offense, and that just ain't right.
Coach of the Year: Marvin Lewis. Yeah, I know Parcells did a good job with a bad team, but Lewis walked into the Bengals and their history of sucking. just that he got'em to believe and play well is nothing short of amazing, let alone challenge for a spell for the division title. They won't make the playoffs again barring a miracle, but they looked good for the fist time since the Ickey Shuffle.
MVP: Peyton ManningBeat Titans and McNair twice.
Reeves got screwed. Well, Coach Reeves did. GM Reeves I can't defend.
Bruce Smith broke the sack record. That's very important, but not for the reason you might think. Now, he'll retire, and the Skins will have to look at their D-line a lot harder. Sure, I know Smith wasn't anything like his Buffalo days, but Snyder liked the name and thus we were stuck with a godawful line the past few years.

Even Gwally says it's hard to tell, he actually knows what he is talking about...........Wait, that came out wrong.
But you know what I am trying to say.
Besides, even if the Cowboys do suck..the Skins suck worse
