It all depends on the rum. Normally, in coke (I love coke), or doing shots of it. If not, my fruit smoothie or milkshake recipe's work great. Dr. Pepper and Captain Morgan's is awesome too.

I don't know if you guys have it where you live, but I recently tried Bacardi's new green apple flavored rum. I normally don't like any flavored liquor, but this stuff was actually not bad at all. It didn't have that really chemically taste that flavored alcohol sometimes has.
Funny story- I tried the stuff because they were giving away free samples at my local liquor store- that's right, a liquor store giving away free samples! In Harlem no less! I was stunned, and I wasn't the only one- another guy came in (he was African American) and tried some. He tasted it, took his shot, and smiled a huge smile. "Damn" he said "that's nice!" He started to dance and mumble stuff like "That stuff is nice- it makes a (n-word) want to jiggle!" And then he kept dancing (and jiggling)
This is the kind of stuff that happens when you live in Harlem- good times!

That's hilarious! My friend's mother owns a liqour store and he's been begging her to get the Black Velvet company to send some BV girls over and give away free samples. It's so funny watching him beg mommy to bring pretty girls to her liqour store.
I know what your talking about, I'm not big on apple flavored anything because they end up making it sour. That new Bacardi stuff was definately done right though for apple lovers, it's got a nice, strong apple flavor and it's fairly smooth. Not a whole lot of kick to it compared to the regular stuff. Definately did it better than my Raspberry stuff. Has anyone tried their Raspberry rum? Ugh, it's the consistancy of cough syrup.
I told my Kimmy about my drink idea I made last night and she just glared at me. I think she just remembers the night she decided to steal my drink, chug it and then the results of that. Which is kicking and cooing in the basinett next to me. She's not too big on drinking anymore.

Two things for you folks...
1. I may be getting cases of liqour at (or near) cost starting next month. Mmm, wholesale booze.
This will mean lots of cheap liqour for me to experiment with and come up with interesting recipes.
2. I made an awesome chicken dish yesterday. Just fried up chicken breasts in a pan, smothered them with garlic, buffalo wing sauce (hot), pepper, and parmesian cheese. If you mix in a 50/50 mix of Frank's Buffalo Wing Sauce and grated parmesian cheese, stir it up, and pour it over the chicken or even dip it in the sauce after it's done cooking it is great. It's still spicy, but it's thicker and has less of a kick to it.
Oh yeah... My camping treat.
3.
Blender
Bag of Ice
Marischino cherries
Cheap vodka
Chocolate
Step One: Take your blender, pour roughly 1- 1 1/2 cups (8-12 oz/shots) into the blender.
Step Two: Pour 1 cup cherries, with juice into the blender.
Step Three: Pour roughly 3 cups ice into the blender.
Step Four: Break up into chunks and drop chocolate into the blender. (To taste, 1 bar is more than enough, I used 1/2 a Hershey Milk Chocolate bar and it was good.)
Step Five: Liquify!
Step Six: Serve and enjoy.
I went through about 6 cups of these over 4th of July weekend myself, about 3-4 shots in a cup. I had a very nice buzz on from friday to sunday early morning. Tastes like a great cherry smoothie with a hint of chocolate.

Sounding good mag I made some great stir fry pork the other day, just fried it off with some indesscriminate veg, and then some garlic, ginger, and chilli. Served with noodle it was pretty sweet. I also experimented with a tomato, herb, bacon and cheese salad, it worked well, but i can't seem to replicate the results Crazy..
Anyway, could you possibly repost you recipie for Vodka Gummy Bears, and also any ideas for something really funky and original to make with rice? Cheers

I once had a little teaparty, this afternoon at three, twas was very small, three guests in all; I, myself, and me. myself ate up the sandwhiches, while i drank up the tea. twas also i that ate the pie,and passed the cake to me
@ Grimar, Yes, yes I have.
@ giles, Try a 1/3 vodka, 2/3 gummy bear mix. One cup of vodka and two cups of gummy bears in a container should work.
Just let sit for about 8 hours, then put in the refridgerator until cold. Eat within 24 hours of mixing alcohol with gummy's or the alcohol turns to sugar.

Cheers for that, But i have a new, relatively urgent request... Some close freinds of mine are leaving for south africa soon, and for there leaving party, we need a cheap, but fun way to get absolutely plastered, without just plain old drinking... Like those gummy bears, but on a larger, more alcoholic scale. Any suggestions?

Cheap and fun eh? If you have access to getting liqour, and a blender this is great.
A small bottle of grenadine, a bag of ice, a bottle of cheap vodka (big one) and a blender works really well and easy.
I dunno if you'll have access to it, but I know I can get a 1.75 liter bottle of cheap vodka for $12 US, the bottle of grenadine for a few dollars more, and the ice you can either make, or they sell for about $2 or cheaper at the gas stations all over near me.
It will be sweet, and like my cherry smoothie thing. You'll be hammered in no time.
Umm, any thoughts as to what your limits are and tastes so I have a better idea for suggestions?
If you have a place that makes milkshakes to go...that's easy. Rum or Southern Comfort go wonderfully when tossing it into a milkshake and stirring it up. Just be sure the liqour is cold or it will turn your milkshakes into soup. You can get a mess of milkshakes, take them home, toss your liqour in it and get a good buzz on. Then you can start doing shots.

... Or caipirinha.1/4th lemmon juice, 2/4ths of rum, vodka, cachaça, tequila or similar drink you have around, fill the glass with ice. You can make that in a jug, and it really makes you drunk easy. The cheaper version around here goes with vodka or cachaça.
Also, there's the good and omnipresent Cuba. Half coke (or pepsi) and half vodka/rum. Rum is better, IMO.

Flesh to stone ain't permanent, it seems.
Rum and Coke's are easy, cheap rum is usually only a dollar or two more than cheap vodka by the handle around me too. Southern Comfort and coke is great as well. Easy, cheap, and you only need the two drinks and cups. Ice helps too.

And you can always put them on those juice jugs
Or in coke bottles
Or directly on the mouth of those in the party.
I remember the tequila girls who poured the holy liquid on our mouths and then held us (our heads) between their legs and shake shake shake it baby now. You get drunk and happy, there's no way to avoid being smiling after that

My recipe thread has just turned into a dirty thread. Oh, the surprise there boggles the mind, doesn't it?

Hmm, that sounds fun. Right.
The almighty cheap-o blender is definately worth having. I picked up a $20 blender a few months back and it's oh so enjoyable to have when making drinks.
A suggestion? If you've got under 5 people or so, this should get you through a full day's fun. Well, if you drink like me and Rachel do.
1 handle of cheap vodka
1 handle of cheap rum
1 liter of anything you'd enjoy doing shots of.
If you can get your hands on a bottle of Captain Morgan's Tattoo rum, it's definately recommended. It's spiced rum, but it's got a sweet, almost fruity taste with it. Very good stuff.
There's a type of vodka from England I LOVE. Player's Extreme Cherry Vodka. They have other flavor's, but the stuff is 35% alcohol, and when cold I can drink it like kool-aid.
Mix 50/50 in Coke and you've got an awesome cherry coke.
Jaegermeister is king if you're going to mix things up with beer. Expensive here in the states, but it's good for shots. Shots are good for you, so they agree.
Southern Comfort, it's alcoholic caramel. Wonderful in milkshakes and Coke. Or straight on ice.
1/3 SoCo 2/3 Coke works good. Stronger if you don't mind the kick.
1/3 SoCo and 2/3 Milkshakes words good too, More than that turns it from a thin milkshake to soup.
Bacardi Razz if you enjoy Raspberry Iced Tea. This, might be good for a slow introduction to drinking early on.
Do a mix of about 1/5 Bacardi and 4/5 Tea. Just brew some strong tea with tea bags, let it sit in the sun for a day or two then chill it the night before after you've throw a cup or so of sugar in the gallon of tea. It will give you a mix of caffiene and rum. I drink this when I go to the movies.

Ok, down to the major stuff.
Vodka goes great with cherries. Marischino cherries work best for drinks, they're soaked in sugar and that juice really covers up the taste of the liqour. "real" fruit is expensive here. I paid about $30 a gallon for my blended fruit mix before alcohol came into the picture.
If money isn't a problem, http://www.gamebanshee.com/forums/showp ... stcount=25 check that post out for some thoughts. Seedless watermelon. Definately SEEDLESS. Using the raspberry's and blackberries, you end up with little seeds that can end up annoying however. Keep that in mind. I was doing a mix of 1/3 vodka and 2/3 smoothie. I got wasted off these smoothies. That night was the one you see Rachel and I in my avatar all too drunk to be standing and worn out there.
If money is tight, a large bottle of Grenadine (if you can find it, the larger grocery stores carry it near me, a liqour store may, the people behind the counter probably would know where to go for some as well.) ice and vodka work great. Smaller bottles are about 10 ounces or so. If that's all you can find then try to go for a mix of about 1 ounce Grenadine to 3 ounces vodka. It should be a decent flavor. 1:2 ratio would definately taste better. I'd slowly blend in the Grenadine to ice and vodka and taste how it works out until you enjoy it.
this link too http://www.gamebanshee.com/forums/showp ... stcount=92
As for the rum. If you can't afford the smoothies:
Milkshakes are great. 4 scoops ice cream, 4 shots Rum (Cherry vodka or SoCo work great too), NO MILK!, and add whatever candy you happen to enjoy.
Don't worry about expensive ice cream, or rum. I can get more than a gallon of either vanilla or the Neopolitan mix cheap ice cream for twice the price of a quart of the good stuff. It will all have a slight taste of alcohol to it whether it's dirt cheap or expensive.
Hmmm...I posted the things for gummy bears again right?
Jello shots.... ah, the fun with doing jello shots with young ladies.
Vodka is necessary. Simply follow the directions for making jello as on the package with one exception. The step where you add cold water, you add that much vodka.
Here's the part I always forget. Little cups to do a shot size gob of jello. If you forget too, pour the mix into a large bowl, scoop it out into smaller ones and dig in with a spoon. Suck it off the spoon, the alcohol tends to soak into your tongue otherwise...
Remember to do these at least 4 hours before you want to enjoy them so you can put them in the fridge to chill them.
I can't think of anything else at the moment.

I just made pancakes for my roommates, they were too drunk to cook and I stayed sober tonight so they were thrilled. I got bored, and threw some chocolate syrup type stuff into the mix, and it was great! Just thought I should throw that little addition out for others. About a tablespoon or so per cups worth of batter works great.
