cool. thnaks!

Has anyone fried the str thing yet, still in the process of createitem all the equipment I got from soa into new tob party.

Sorcoress (me) uber mu
savarok
viccy
aerie
jaheira
imoen

no jan, no frigging anomen. I'd love to slip in korgan somehow, but am testing concurrent romance patch, so no room!!!
All the grils are getting dual weild, so I can spin stormstar and crom feyr around in battle, and I can use belm and spectral brand and attack twice perround for jahiera. plaanning to get grandmastery in crossbow for saverok, and hit watchtower like a thunderbolt.

One illegal item (never found in soa) is
wand of polymorph, since I never mem the spell, too easy to save against, to try having aerie chani 9 or so dooms on a dragon, then spell strike, breach, dispell, multiple lower resistance and malison, and turn it into squirrel.

Then have aerie activate aura of flaming death, and watch her chse it around with that great big hammer stammering "faster than chikkita fastpaws" and the aura makes her look like her skirt is on fire.

When I have a screenshot I will send to gamebanshee to post on the front page.

Turning dragons into squirrels doesn't really help much, I turned the shadow dragon in umar hills into a squirrel once, he still casts spells to protect himself (prot. magick weapons) and to attack you (various), he still does wing buffet on your party (must be a flying squirrel) and if I remember correctly he still does a fair bit of melee damage and uses his evil, nasty breath weapon... Although I'm not 100% sure on the last bit.

More Cheese (tip from Two this time):

Get a Familiar. Load inventory slots full. Do some quest that gives you an item (through dialog). Your Familiar is dropped (gone), but you still have the bonus Hit Points. Get another Familiar. Repeat ad nauseum.

Xyx, again, wow. That's like a pizza - WITH EXTRA CHEESE!

You really are living up to your title, and I say - "Long Live The King!" ;)

I have invented a new way to kill kobolds!
It's a spell called Cheesy Koboldkill
It stone the target
Kill the target
Blind the target
Spook the target
Target takes acid damage
Confuse Target
Desintegrate the target
Entangle the target

and all that without saving throw!
(you can use it on any monster but it more fun to use on kobolds)

The Saradush tip about firing at the giants is /priceless/. Cheesy too, well done. :)

Simulacrum to use limited/charged items without wasting your originals is really cheesy (Scroll of Protection from Magic for example).

I have to admit that the spawning an a$$load of Drizzts is about the cheesiest thing I've ever heard. I'm stunned.

Fake Talk is really darn cheesy too, in fact one of the cheesiest things since you can use it on any blue critter and get rounds of free hits. Further, if you want to maximize the cheesiness simply pause, fake talk them again, and then attack as you unpause. You could keep a critter blue all the way to its doom, which is sad.

The Cloak and Shield against Beholders is just wrong - the first time I did the Lidless Eye I didn't have the bonus merchants, man.../that/ was a tough fight. Now it's like 'Ho hum, gotta go slay me some beholders en masse. Honey...you want beholder eye stew again?'. ;)

Using Shadowkeeper isn't cheesy or cheating; but only under very specific circumstances such as:

* To regenerate an item that went missing for no discernable reason, or that you dropped somewhere and forgot where.
* To correct some game error that happened (My character in this new game is an import from BG, for some reason his hit points got doubled on Import! Used SK to lower his hits to the correct total, but man that was tough...really tempting to be the Fighter/Thief with 200 HP!)

A little bit of cheese with the Axe of the Unyielding:

You can heal yourself by repeatedly equipping, unequipping and re-equipping the axe (because of the +1 constitution).

Wow--can we petition Bioware to hire Xyx as a "cheese tester" for NWN? He just seems to have a special nose for it! (Plus, he seems to be a much better scripter than their present staff; just try his smart beholders!)

You know, seriously, there should be a cheese tester for every reasonably sophisticated RPG. Except the position would come with a fancier title, like "head cheese control manager."

I also wouldn't mind official (or maybe unofficial?) "cheese patches." All Bioware would have to do to find their cheese problems is read this thread.

Anyway, for adding the familiar trick to the official cheese canon, I say

Bravo Xyx!

Yes, Xyx has certainly proven his mettle (He IS the King)...I personally love the smart beholders-I hope those smart enemy mages are coming!

(He writes in English extremely well for someone from the Netherlands, as well...Is there something you're not telling us Xyx? If I just read your writing I would assume you were an extremely above average native speaker...Note: no offense against the Netherlands, I have met many Nederlanders who have exceptional linguistic abilities in multiple of languages...and also my last name is Aker... :) )

Anyway, I have a stupid little "lots of XP" trick for the members of the Guild:

Use the character generator in TOB as if you are going to start a character at the beginning of TOB.

Start the game, then export your character...

Import said character into character generator in SOA.

Voila! Your character will start SOA with 2.5 mil experience points...note for people who feel that the cap should be lower for NPCs than for PC to create proper feeling of 'godhood', this technique will probably do the trick!

Try this:
it works MUCH better in enclosed spaces, the smaller the better, and with pure fighters.
-Cast Limited Wish
-Choose the horde to overrun the enemy
-While the fighters are blocked by the rabbits and can't reach you, FIRE AWAY :D

Well... I'll let you in on the big secret then. I trained to be an English teacher. Graduated two years ago and worked at a school for three whole months until summer break came. No work for teachers in summer, so I got a job offer at a big IT company and now I'm a programmer. :) Teaching was OK, but I like it much better this way.

Oh, and a significant contribution to the thread! I did more testing today (ISP got hit by lightning or something, so I had a bit of spare time :D ). This really seems so weird that I wonder if it's just my machine... (someone please try it out) Anyway, here goes:

Contingency and Chain Contingency do not count towards the "1 spell per 6 seconds" limit! You can fire these things off in rapid succession, even in between other spells. I could even cast them while the game was paused. Who needs Improved Alacrity? Three Horrid Wiltings every couple of seconds. :D

Ah HA! I knew something was going on...I was beginning to think you were a transplant from the US. Actually I thought maybe you were lying about where you are, except I could tell by when you post that you're in that timezone...

No real cheese to post at the moment...I will have to try out that contingency chain contingency thing! What do you mean you can cast it with the game paused?

By the way - my new signature line:

Cool!!!!

Another even as evil is if you don't have increased acuity yet, or still playing soa without tob, spell trigger and spell sequencer do count as one spell.

Without increased acuity, cast timestop, cast spell trigger, sequencer and minor sequencer. 8 Spells in one timestop. load up with spell breakers in the first volley, and the fianl two chromatic orbs have a good chance of killing a dragon.

on a evil moer evil note, I really must try out that multi to a kit. holds the promise of creating my dream character, the kensai sorc dual.

Hey, children of the gods have some unusual abilities. Get three high masteries in staff, two handed sword and halberd, and summon RAvager +6 and gram into a soa game. Whatch out dragons! I just finished lev two of watchers keep. Boy, that chromatic demon was annoying. It took forever to kill it, finally took savaorak with silver sword, and 4 mordenkainen sword summons to kill it. Really annoyed bolts of glory did not kill it. And viccys holy smites did a lot of damage to savarok. Sigh.

Can't wait until he turns chaotic good, and viccy turns neutral.

friendly fire isn't!

Well... just that! :D Pause the game, press the spell's icon in the F7 spellcasting menu, and there you go. You're in that menu where you get to choose spells, target and condition.

I have read posts that say using summon creatures to use as cannon fodder is cheesy. I say what is cannon fodder for? If that is cheesy then this must be headcheese. ;) When fighting Garths and Beholders cast invisibility and follow your creatures into the battle. The monsters do not use their spells on summons and they tend to be very poor melee fighters. Don't swing a sword or cast a spell and still get the experince for killing them. Time for some crackers and wine!!

I think that summons are a perfectly legit technique - the thing that can make them cheesy is bad enemy AI - like for instance if you summon wolves around a demilich that is immune to +3 or less weapons, and so the wolves have no chance of ever doing damage, the Lich will still target the wolves with spells instead of you...

So exploiting this bad AI is sort of cheesy.

The other thing that I have said is that people say that they are "soloing" and then every tactic they describe involves a heap of summoned creatures and simulacrums. Well how is it soloing if you have all these creatures fighting for you?

The reason that this gets into cheesing, is that a group of 6 adventurers still has to obey 5 summons limit, but sims don't. So a "solo" guy gets just as many summons as a whole party.

So then the "solo" character gets ALL the Exp for things that their summons and sims have killed, instead of splitting it with a party, and they can equip all the best weapons too. So a sim of my kensai mage dual wielding blackrazor and crom faer has those weapons too, where a real party with two fighters they can't BOTH have those uberweapons, AND they each get half the experience.

I'm not trying to say that "soloing" is EASY, but there are cheesy things about it...and I don't think that the word "soloing" is very accurate unless you take one barbarian and don't even use horn of valhalla or spider figurine.
