Thanks! I'm a bit better today. Instead of feeling stoned on meds I just smell like a koala bear because of all the menthol and eucalyptus rubs I'm using as decongestants

No, what I like with the pub threads is that just as in normal conversation, we can move from low to high, from the mundane to great questions of our time, and it all fits in equally well

I am the once mighty high preist of the industrial vegans! We abstained, and begged the abstainence of others, of partaking in the sacrements with any manner of processed animal product, but mainly the acursed 's' word one.

For many years I wandered in the wilderness of SYM with nothing to show for my sacrifices but the occassional rebuke and shunning, then alas I was tricked by Martha Stewart into making a foul oath and covenent with Weasel, and now I am oblidged to follow his covenent.

Oh have note of my fate! I am become as the fallen paladin who is made a death knight. Share not my fate. Remain pure.

Also if any of you could tell how to do as my master comands and go forth and 's' word mightily I'd be much obliged. Donations of cash and food also accepted. - Curdis !

Yeah, speaking of fallen paladins, does anyone know how to fix a sore forearm? My left arm has been acting like crud all day.

LoL No, right-handed actually. I think I just twisted it or something in my sleep. Turns out, sleeping last night helped 'cause now it's fine. Good thing, too, since it was so very distracting.

Curdis: I almost did the warm bath last night, but I was already not wanting to waste the effort.

Industrial vegans? What the heck? Blah. Reminds me of an upcoming Dilbert strip on my desktop calendar, where a vegan proudly proclaims that he uses no animal products whatsoever, and Dilbert adroitly points out that his clothes were created through machines which ran on coal and oil which comes from the remains of animals. Cut to the vegan strutting nude through the office. :speech:

I was going to post "cut to Curdis pushing his car in the nude" but then I realised that I run my car on Biodeisel, and "cut to Curdis driving his car in the nude" didn't have the same pizzazz.

You may need to think a little harder about the industrial vegan thing.

I have not heard from the wannabe PhD-student again, I think I managed to scare him away by threatning him with having to come up with a plan to investigate his genious ideas. I don't know what it is with neuroscience, it attracts wannabe students who believe they are so great and so, so genious when all they do is putting some facual errors together. Almost all my colleagues in the field seems to suffer from these deluded students, but I've never heard that my friends who work in other fields have the same problem.

The movie was good btw, not the same class as his early work but still, good.

I've been meaning to ask this question for a long time. Hope you don't mind. Are most of the SYM members from the Elder Scrolls forum? I'm not sure why I came to this conclusion but it seems like the majority of those that hang around here frequent the aformentioned forums the last time I checked.

@Des: I don't know, I'm not from the Elder Scrolls forum anyway, I have never read or posted there since I haven't played the game.

I got involved here long before I started reading the MW forum, much less moderating it.

I came here by way of the Baldur's Gate Two forum. Chances are that had I not been a part of the GB community I wouldn't have even tried Morrowind.

What's this for? It looks too slippery for what I would assume you'd use it for. Gold Peices only. My dignity isn't surrendered so cheaply (on a good day).

Regarding your student. I think there is a degree of this in all disciplines. In the 'hard' sciences the students curb their expressed enthusiasms because they don't want to appear 'unserious'. I'm sure in Philosophy departments they actual egg the students on 'Why not mix Kant, Hegel and Schopenhauer and relate it somehow to multi-dimensional topography?' <Student> 'But I don't know anything about Kant, Hegel and Schopenhauer, or multi dimensional topography' <Superviser>'I'm sure you'll pick it up as you go along.'

Regarding students: I'm in physiology for godssake, I study biochemical transmissions between brain cells, not social constructs! Sure biology will never be as "hard" as some aspects of physics and chemistry, but it's still you cannot think up an observation even if you're as genious as this Mr Charming.

Enthusiasm and Choreography? That would be a falafel with homus and a side salad.

This student sure seems to have boiled your undies, knotted them and put them back on inside out. Can you claim that you are unqualified to assess his brilliance and palm him off onto some unsuspecting other?

Baldur's Gate? Hmm. Kept hearing about that game on this forum. I've also seen quite a lot of traffic going on over at the Baldur's Gate section of this forum. Didn't know that its still popular up till this very day. Pity that I never played it when it came out since at that time, I was probably more interested in games like Command & Conquer back then. And about Morrowind, it never really appealed to me. I've heard of it but for some reason, I never really liked it. The First Person view of that game must have really turned me off.
