- Make it for XBox (original) or at least PC (but not a game you need a super computer to play)
- More cities on planets, more planets to go to
- More RPG-like, less plot-orientated, allow you to go wherever you want to make whatever storyline you want to follow
- Make space travel take time
- More than one ship to choose from, allow you to modify ship (i.e. less travel time)
- Make story plots depend on what side of force you're on
- Make a story plot even if you end up being undecided (on gray, not blue or red)
- Make story just as good if you decide to be a soldier and fight with blasters and not with lightsabers (and be Jedi/Sith)

Sorry Chanak...
I thought it might be easier and better to start a new thread considering the fact that this topic already has 81 pages and 1200 replies.
Anyway the second idea I had for the new KOTOR III...
The current KOTOR games are cool, but I would like to see a game in which you have dozens of planets to explore, but which would also provides a more strategic flavor to the game.
It would not be entirely correct and there would be part fantasy, but it could be fun nonetheless.
A few key sentences:
1. A game in which you start as Revan (Jedi-apprentice) and together with your close friend Malak you can work yourself up to either Jedi master or Sith Lord.
2. doing Jedi or Sith jobs with the sole purpose of growing stronger and more powerfull.
3. planets staying part of the republic or becoming part of the new sith war machine only because of choises you make. (same galactic map like on Ebon Hawk in KOTOR 1+2 only using icons to make them Mandalorian, Republican, Sith (various Sith Lords) or Neutral)
Choose your destiny:
- Play a “brave” Jedi and participate in the Mandalorian wars not only on the ground slaying soldiers, but if you wish also commanding the warships and allow attacks according to your strategy. Finish the battle in orbit of Malacor V and make a choice to let: a) yourself fall to the Darkside or b) stay on the path of the Lightside and be punished by the counsel and hope they will accept you back in due time.
- Play a “cowardly” Jedi and dont participate in the mandalorian wars, but do your share of scouting missions, peaceloving humanitairian stuff (solving arguments between worlds or people like KOTOR 1 (Matale and the other family) or defending planets (you just happen to be scouting) against the Mandalorian. During the Jedi civil war: a) defend yourself against capture, b) join the Jedy academy on Korriban or c) allow yourself to be captured and broken to join the dark side on distant Malacor V.
Darkside:
- Visit various world in order to spy and scout the enviroment.
- You finding the Starforge for the first time, using it to your advantage by building ships and killing your oponents (either minor Sith Lords whose names are forgotten in these times or the Republic) .
- Through skill and cunning survive Jedy invasions of your ship or get captured (random chance malak’s ship will be attacked instead of yours if you chose to use seperate ships).
- Destroy entire planets at your will !!
- Send out assasins like Atton to kill Jedy everywere.
- Trully capture the galaxy yourself and forge a strong Sith empire.
Lightside:
- Listen to the counsil and do many quests in the hope that the sith will be weakend.
- Deal with fellow Jedy that tend to fall to the darkside (help them back or kill them)
- Visit various world in order to spy and scout the enviroment.
- Defend worlds against sith invasion armies.
- Join the Republican army and try to destroy the starforge before the republic will be overrun by the armies of the sith.
- Trully defend the galaxy against the sith threat of multiple Sith Lords and their armies and make sure the republic remains alive.
The game will end only when either all the Sith are destroyed or all the Jedi are killed.

I think it owuld be cool to have more of a life living game. like to buy a ship and pick a home city to live in and stuff, so u can sleep and live. Myabe even make an academy and be a sith lord and rule everyone. Might change the meaning of the game a bit but it would be awesome. They definatly need to have coruscant as one of the maps and endor. This game you shouldn't satrt from scratch it should start where u left off leaving malacore on the ebon hawk or something. I think the game should be bigger and longer and alot more challenging and even more quests.

more asskickin
same engine, maybe some revamped sound effects, feats, powers like always.
just more plain old asswhoopin.
OOo and it seems like the game always ends with you usurping power if your a darkside player, I wish that that would come just a bit earlier, and that you could use some of the things like the starforge or malachor to crush your enemies. It would have been soo sick if at the end of kotor 1&2 that you could have used the starforge and malachor to go back and crush your enemies in the republic. Lightside players could get an ending where there is a hidden enemy, or a corrupt dude that you have to put out of commision. Either way, that always was sick for me, when I first found out that I could actually take the star forge for myself was the end of my free will. I got sooo addicted to these games it was unbelievable. I dont even play many videogames other than these. I thought they were that good. If you put the words kotor 3 on a box i would worship it for months.

one last thing
ooo and one more thing, there is no way that they should use any of the planets that they have shown in the movies or really, maybe even in previous games. If they do then they will have something to live up to, if you put endor you need ewoks, and i feel that that would really take away from the creativness of the game. I had no idea what or were taris was in the first game, but it was sick as heck, especially watching it be razed. By using new planets, the developers can do whatever they want on those planets, meaning no, Ooooo where were the ewoks!!! or what happened to those gungan guys i wanted to see jar jars ancestor blahdiblahdiblah

Yes, something I really liked about the games was their individuality away from the movies. Partly because KOTOR's storyline did somewhat kick the arse of Phantom Menace, IMO, but mire importantly because it allowed the devs to be more creative with what they could do.
I mean, it's nice to have the tie-ins to other parts of the SW universe, but the time difference really freed up the game to take the good parts of SW and develop them in a way the films couldn't.

I would like it to be huge. many other games have proven that this is possible.
I would like to see free-roaming. that is all planets ever mentioned (see my post in "what planets would you like in KOTOR III") with more than one reason to be there. I want Immense expansions to the gear you can get (weapons, tools, skills, armour, force abilities) I would like to see alignments be more subtle, and just be a part of your character. I would love to meet characters in existing lore. I want to be interactive with EVERY NPC. I don't want a game ending, maybe a storyline ending but no game ending. and I want a reason to keep on playing, and remain entertained while doing so. that means side quest, side quests, and even more sidequests. that means interactive achievements.
(IE. finsih storyline by killing bad guy, do quests, then start up academy, teach new jedi, expand academy, bring an jedi academy house to every planet, deal with issues on bringing them there, work with or against local justice, etc etc etc. perhaps have some way to set up online servers where everyone has a similar home planet where they do these things.) I want to see my effects on the world (changing maps based on choices and actions.)
I want the game to last.

Interesting thoughts, JFSOCC. I'm kind of torn on the whole sandbox idea.
I love games like Morrowind that have a storyline ending but not a game ending - especially when you've built up your character to be that good, you just want to parade about the galaxy letting everyone know about it.
At the same time, I've said elsewhere that something I've always liked about the KOTOR series is that your choices have effects - so there's not often "second chances" to go back and rectify any mistakes you might have made. This is amplified by the fact that the game is storyline driven.
There is also the danger, with a game that covers as much of th universe as you want, that everything becomes a little bit generic, because it takes so long to develop, and we get quantity at the expense of quality.
But all that said, it would be very, very nice.

I would want it on the x-box, x-box 360, and pc
I would think these charcters would be cool
A female twilek jedi that teaches you like Bastilla.
A Republic Soilder that you rescue and swares alligence to you who you have a relashinship with if female
A new mandolorian (maybe Canderous's son)
HK-47 because he's the best charcter in the whole series
T3-M4 because its just not right without him
A Rodian that betrays you for the dark side/light depending on your allignement
Another Wookie that is either jedi or sith
A new droid
A mon calamari jedi
Trask Ulgo
And a much older Bastilla who never gave up on Revan
Planets you go to could be
Tantooie where you find the rodian
Mannan where you find a damaged droid
Hoth where you find the dying republic soldier in a wampa cave
Mon Calamari where you find the jedi
You find Hk and T3 on the Eban Hawk
Ordo where you find the mandilorian
You start on Courisant where you find the twilek who teaches you and have a relashinship with
Eventualy you and your team go to the place where Revan went and find the much older Bastilla
You findd the wookie on kashiak and taken up living to Jolee's abanded hut
the new dark lord is a Shistavanen male who has 3 apprentices in the game an ithorian who you kill on Tantoonie and a talz who you kill on Hoth and finalaly the son of Revan and Bastilla who went to the acadamy you kill him before you fight the dark lord

@DarthBob and 11Revan26: Keep your posts on topic. The topic of this thread is "what you want in KOTOR III," and is not to be used for other sorts of discussion.

@bigredpanda: Let's stay on topic. This thread concerns what you want in a possible KOTOR III. There's a thread on this forum that covers what you *don't* want. Feel free to express that there, but not here.
@Dra'Lion: I understand where you're coming from, but I'll ask you to consider this: many members wish to start a thread regarding their ideas. If that were allowed to happen, I assure you it would be next to impossible to conduct any sort of an exchange of ideas here due to the sheer volume of open threads. Then you would likely be looking at a thread "bumping war" where members would vie for front-page status for their own favorite threads. Dedicated discussion threads devoted to a particular topic make coherent discussion possible that isn't intimidating nor impractical to join. It also prevents thread bumping and other undesirable behaviors. New threads would constantly displace older ones, requiring a member or guest to hunt for items of interest. Dedicated threads remove much of the work there. Hopefully, you get my point.
EDIT: As it stands, this one is getting close to the 1500 post limit. When that happens, I will close it, and create a new one for members to continue the discussion in.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned before, but I'd quite like to see time come in to gameplay a bit more. I mean like day and night cycles, with characters shifting position/world at certain points. They did this a little bit in K2, with certain charcaters popping up here and there, but it would be quite cool if you had a sense that the rest of the galaxy was moving at the same time as you. Not sure of the programming implications of that, though.
Fable = Kotor3?
yeah,if you wanna do the whole start as a kid thing, why not just say: hey, they should have the ppl doing fable and kotor get together and make a game. i like the idea and think that would make a great game.
-Ailiam
P.S.
dont write gay plots that suck. there are very few that could write a plot good enough for kotor III and there is a very rare chance he/she is on this board.

What I'd like to see is...
You select your Revan and your Exile out of the possible bodies from the previous two games, then there is a brief conversation between two 3rd party characters that determines your Revan and your Exile's respective alignments you then get to charge through the unknown regions.
Oh yeah and I want to see two characters actually touch in the game...I want kissing/hugging scenes dammit!

I'm not sure if I had posted this allready, but I want some characters that actually have some brains (both on your side and against you) instead of usual crazy people who just rush trough mines to meet you in hand-to-hand combat even if you just keep runing away and ocationaly turn around to shoot them. Silly Jedi.

Hmm, I have bad memories of other games attempting this and failing. Helpfully, I've forgotten them all at this moment. To have slightly more "dynamic" cutscenes would be cool though, rather than the characters just standing there and delivering their lines.Ryusui wrote:
