She must be the exception to the rule, Maggie.

Nope, but that's where Rachel and I will be working if they ever get on the ball. They were "desperate for help" and a friend of ours begged us to join him working there before he went insane, offered us free food and stuff. I thought "hmm... money for liqour, cute girls working here, my friends working here, and free food for roommies....OK!". Now, I'm thinking "If they're THAT desperate, why are they waiting so long on training the two people they hired?".

I don't need the money, I'd just rather work if there's an opportunity to do so. I could care less where, work is work, and money is money.

Government, their screw up left me unable to work a full-time job or go to college, so they pay my bills now. Well, they make other people pay my bills now.

Um, don't know how to put this to you, Maggie. McDonald's are always desperate for employees, any time of the year, anyplace :p .

Anyone rejected by McDonald's should probably sue them or something. Hard to get much lower than that.

You'd be surprised...with the economy here, it's hard even to get into McDonald's. There's people with Master's degree's trying to get a job there around here. Jobs are rare, no matter whether it's a minimum wage dump of a workplace, or an office job with $100,000 a year salary.

Too hung over to go into it, but they drugged me with "medications" in a state hospital against my will when I went in their for insomnia. Memory, metabolism, thought processes, etc are all shot now from how they screwed up the medications. I fought it in court to get out, state decided to side with the guy with a degree and not me and my family, so the state now pays for the results of that decision.

Hmm... I'd have thought there would be quite a lot of jobs on offer around NY. Big enough place.

I'm just trying to resist the urge of getting a job, especially in a place like McDonald's.

The economy is really, REALLY bad. This area of NY isn't anything like NYC though. It's mostly farms, factories and little stores and stuff. Still....too many people, too much downsizing with companies. They can buy machines to do stuff instead of pay workers to do it for them. People that have had a job for 10-20 years get laid off in place of a machine, and they scramble to get jobs at those dumpy places like McDonald's to feed their families. Rachel and I got lucky to get in to be honest, chances are, we took the job of someone needing to feed his/her family.

Wow, things must be bad when you end up relying on McDonald's to feed the family. And with the wages from there, no luxuries at all.

Yeah, things are bad, and thanks Grimar.

I gotta make calls today and change my address with different places for bills and stuff. Hope your move goes well Grimar. I'll be back later at some point.

I'm neither an American, nor a Brit.... But you're right :o

It was a careless mistake, though, not a stupid one. :D

Hi, DZ.

Haven't talked to you in while.

Why haven't you eaten anything?
