Though.. it's only 10:30 in the morning where I am :eek: [/QUOTE]Blond, bitter & 9% alcohol. :D To be savoured at ease. (and not for drinking 7 in a relatively short time as I know from experience, OMG, that was a mistake).
Here it's past 6.30 pm. No worries.

At 9%, that should be enough to warm mind, body and soul! :eek: :D

Most Canadian beers, even the craft-brewed ones, do not exceed 5%. *sigh*

We had a halloween party once where we got a guy to take his belt off and use it to climb a 20 ft pole. We had to call the fire department to get him down. ( he was later convicted of stealing a drag racing snowmobile. :rolleyes: ) :laugh: :laugh: :laugh:

California...LA.. ;) ...although I would love to visit a Canadain pub....people here generally abuse the liquor..or cant handle it, its no funny if after a few shoots you start acting like an idiot or picking fights :mad: ;)

@Chu,
well I don't know you all that well, but come to think of it, that's a good point :D

@Juni,
agreed! The only time I can tolerate something like White Zin is if it is from a good winery, is very well chilled, and I'm drinking it alongside a meal like Curry.

However, for somewhat sweeter wines, I *much* prefer a Viognier :cool: It has an initial burst of honeysuckle and fruit, but tapers to a nice, dry finish :cool:

@Slade, oh people get obnoxious in pubs here too. It really just depends on where you go. Some are worse than others ;)

The highest you can get with beer is about 10% (maybe even a bit higher but I'm not sure).
On wine in boxes: the only advantage (apart from price) is that it keeps its, admitted low, quality even when stored in warmer climes. Which sadly can't be said for bottled wines. So at times I've been reduced to drinking wine from boxes, the horror, the pain!

And in terms of moonshine or homebrewn things, if it was anything like the home brewn vodka* I drunk in Armenia, which was definitely more than half pure alcohol, it must be bad (another thing that seemed a good idea at the time,... until the morning after when I met the little man with the hammer)

* well, they call it vodka, but then any clear liquid with a certain amount of alcohol was called vodka (and if amber or yellow cognac). In fact it was made of mulberries, not of grains which gave it a slighty fruity tast which you could just discern above general feeling of having put liquid fire in your mouth.

*shudder*

I just *knew* there was a good reason why I tend to thrive in cold climates :D
