@All, T'L has asked I let you know she has had ISP problems these last few days, and is not sure when they will be sorted :( I have emailed her the story, to date, and will do so until she returns.

She has said it is ok to write her in...though I suggest we are respectful - she intends to return, and you would not want to have to deal with the T'Raptor now would you?*laughs* :D ;)

"T'lainya suddenly begins barking like a dog and scratches at the door, begging to be let out..." Is this respectful enough? :D :D

The T'raptor sees Gwallys post  and leisurely extends her claws  ...Shredded Gwally would be a nice addition to the landscape :p :D

I have only begun to read this dark flame story even though I've been a member for a while. It is really quite impressive. I don't believe I'm nearly as acclimated as Bloodstalker appears to be but I too, plan to read as much as possible (where does it all begin) and perhaps spark an interest in participating.

Cheers Ned ;) Basically, if go you to the front page of this thread, you will find that Gwally posted the links in order. Note, The Anomen thread is not exactly part of the story (although Gwally inserted a truly hilarious episode in there :D ), but it is where we all initially met, so it could be considered the birthplace of the Dark Flames. :)

Aegis..Don't spam up the story.Any comments are to posted here :p As for young, the Complete book of elves lists 100 as adolescence for all subraces but drow. :D 200 is adulthood..to be even more irritating, the first ed. rules had elves only strating out in adulthood at 200-300 yrs depending on class :D
and now for something completely different...
Welcome to all new members

Just like the other newbies in this thread I find the DF saga very entertaining (though I must admit I don't have much of the time to fully enjoy it --- blame it to limited time :( compounded with darn slow server  ).

I got a slight problem though when it comes to posting at the story thread - I'm roughly 11-13 time zones away from the U.S.

This makes immediate response to what's been happening a slight glitch when it comes to timing. :(

Because of this feel free to put words (literally :D ) on my character's mouth/thoughts. You guys have been great in anticipating what your other comrades would have said or do :) . I suppose you can do that for my paladin too. Hopefully in time when I get the hang of each of your character's personalities, I could do justice when I include them in my post.

As of now, Maharlika is in a strange world (to him) therefore language barrier is something to contend with. I thought that this would make things interesting in the story.

However to somehow minimize the inconvenience, Maharlika has some limited training in psionics - not for offensive purposes but for defense. He does not know any offensive psionics. He can however be communicated via telepathy, and I figured that this form of communication would know no language barrier. What are your thoughts on this?

You could however (as a challenge to the resident mages :) ) find a spell that would lift up this difficulty in language.

Thanks for accommodating me. Wish I could write right now on the thread but work calls (I'm writing this between classes.)

Will be writing later after work, 5 hours from now.

Peace.

Now that I have gotten caught up on everything, I wanted to welcome all of the new authors. I have enjoyed how rich and varied the story has become. :)

@Maharlika: there are a couple of other options you could consider. If you are on ICQ, other people (authors, wonderkinds, in the story are often about. Sometimes we will coordinate a large or complex posting in this way. Another option if you are writing a scene that may involve someone else's character is to ask them if they would like to write the scene with you. Then you can decide how to post it in a way that works for both of you... or all of you, if there are more than two people involved. :)

Indeedy, as you can see in my post, I've called everyone together, maybe we can get a lil party started.

Just to let you all know, my ICQ (I now finally have it! :D ) is 147706073. :)

I'll just get rid of the mud first, wouldn't look good if I kept making muddy tracks all over the place :D

Sound suggestions! Thanks. :)

As for ICQ, still have to work on that since ICQ's are not allowed in our place of work (it's a great temptation for slacking :D ), though I'll still try to set up my own account. At any rate, I'll just rely on e-mail and PM's for the meantime, or does anyone use the hotmail messenger?

Also, my character's situation/set-up is perfect for what I'm in as a writer: Don't know much about the main characters nor the place. :)

I will continue to read the threads mentioned by Gwally.

Help! Help! The T’Raptor is after me! Somebody help! (@T’lainya - LOL! ;) )

Aw, poor Louie.... first DW, now T’lainya. Healing! Stat!

@DW and everyone: The Anomen thread, in sum, is also an extremely intelligent exposition on the ramifications of the Anomen Romance in BGII as they pertain to social, gender, and sexual stereotypes. Many of the ideas presented could have been written into a very interesting publication, assuming anyone in the gaming world would be interested in exploring gender issues in BG.

I guess elves just mature real slowly.... :p

Good plan. Take it slow. Everyone should be comfortable with each other before we start taking liberties with each other’s characters. I learned that the hard way. :)

@Mysteria: The mud should be dry by now... *Gwally hands Nippy the mop and bucket, “It’s your turn, you slacker!”*

To all: The key to writing this story is patience. Many of us are supposed to be working or dealing with our families, and may not post every single day. Time zone issues are also a problem for more than one person here as well. If you are waiting for someone to do something, give it a few days before asking “where is he?” If you still want to write, you can take the lull in activity as an opportunity for some introspective character development, or something. :)

Well, here's what I come up with.

Name: Bloodstalker
Nickname: BS
Race: Human
age: about 26
Class: sorta like a wizard slayer, not by choice though.
Alighnment:Chaotic good
Appearance: About 5fett, 10 inches tall, Shoulder length dark hair, blue-gray eyes, deeply tanned and weatherbeaten skin from prolonged exposure to the outdoors.
Clothing:Studded leather armor, leather pants and leggings, bracers, boots
Weapons: Striker, a bastard sword named due to it's ability to hack through some mage defenses, dagger, and a pair of throwing dagger's kept in his boots.

Since entering the group, I think i'll just kinda blend in for awhile, get afeel for this(don't wanna step on any toes :D ). work me in where you want to while I am learning.
