I think it deserves a chance. But if nothing happens, we'll let it gracefully retire for a while, and try launching it on another unsuspecting generation that has a better sense of humor in the future.Originally posted by ThorinOakensfield:

To the Righteous belong the fruits of violent victory. The rest of us will have to settle for warm friends, warm lovers, and a wink from a quietly supportive universe.

Being small and vicious isn't enough. Most lawyers are small and vicious, but they rarely make good cannon fodder--not that it shouldn't be tried, of course.Originally posted by craig:

What's needed are balance, size, ferocity and density, all worked up in a good ratio. The various halfling, dwarven and gnomish races all fit this description to a fair extent. Our scholarly journal has focused on the various issues attached to these three options, and their pursuit.

Okaym i really don't like yer dwarf throwing(don't care for the gnomes), but kobolds may be more useful for lightining warfare.
They are light, and if they are kamikaze kobolds they'll explode upon impact.

I can't believe that no one has mentioned Gimly the dwarf's quote from LOTR1: "Nobody throws dwarves!"
Best line in the movie, and it shows that the writers of the film really knew fantasy very well. The subject of "dwarf throwers" (versus "dwarven throwers") has been around for a long time, and has been the catalyst for the creation of a lot of humorous material, as evidenced by this thread.
A little off topic, but was I the only one who thought the LOTR movie was a lot better D&D film than the stupid one that bore that name?

Hmmm, Bumping a suspicious and spurious topic, with an unlabelled and off topic movie spoiler.... As a first post I'd rate it about an 8.
Oh and welcome to the forum(s)!!!
The D&D movie was only fair but I loved the special effects, haven't seen LOTR1 so I can't compare.

Hey! Keep it down, there! We're listening to a symposium on liquid chili pepper as a fuel additive to get more distance out of gnomish ammo.

Ah I remember my days in the order standing behind the massed rows of liquid chilli fuelled gnomish artillery.
It nearly brought back the warm and fuzzy feeling one got after a creeping barrage.
