lots of guilds came and went, only the shadow mages remain. there attempts at fighter ones, i think one was called the sword saints or somethign like that. a monk one was tried, the nature one for druids and ranger.
I remember there were four active guilds at the apex of the BG2 era: The League of Divinity (clerics and paladins), the Council of Mages (wizards and sorcerers), the Brotherhood of the Woods (druids and rangers), and the Shadow Guild (thieves). The Mage Council and Shadow Guild of course merged into the Shadow Mages (ostensibly devoted to primarily mage/thief multi-classes, but fairly inclusive overall), whilst the other two disapeared into the mists of Game Banshee. Some of the funniest moments were the old "mage bashing" posts of the Shadow Guild.

I had heard that he was using a pirated copy of BG2 (or ToB). Posting about such illegal activities is against forum rules, so: PRESTO! banned.

Poor Wraith. I guess fable (or possibly Buck) deleted his "please don't ban me again" thread, since his post count reads one.
Let this be a lesson to the newbies. Though Game Banshee is a pleasant place, it's laws are unbending: if one breaks them, a price shall be paid.

Buck did. His also blocked Wraith's ISP, I think. Buck provided an explanation for his actions over in a SYM (Speak Your Mind) topic started by Littiz, which you're welcome to read. I think it's on the last or next to last page.

Thanks fable, I'll check it out.
BTW, what's up with "wraithperson" and his SYM topic? I'm surprised it hasn't been deleted, or at least closed. Is it really Wraithlord/The Wraith back once more, or is it just some newbie or alter-ego trying to get a rise out of people?

WOW.....it seems we're back in may/june 2001....the topic is still alive!!!!!! Yes, we're the only guild remaining....because we're the best

........
BTW, i finished my ToB ride and my party had no problem in killing everyone (you'll find my party in a post 2-3 pages before this....). At the end i looked at the number of killings of each party member and realised that Edwin had a really low number of kills....i had too many figthers so spellcasting was not used much (for the first time in a game of mine).
Now i've started a new BGI game as a druid that will become a avenger (-2 to strg and const but i have 19 thaks to the tome and there are a lot of girdles for strg......) and i hve :
Minsc
Viconia (future romance)
Edwin
Imoen (she will become an assassin in BGII....)
Coran (to be replaced by Valygar, i think)
In this way i'll have the same companions in all the game.....
More to come.....

Oh yeah the
League of Divinity and the
Brotherhood of the Woods . The_Pope made both of them.
The brotherhood started in bgDungeon tavern(the really old days, man i miss them, 20,000 members, that was crazy) and when it closed down and never reopened we all migrated here and Pope started it up again. Then the silly mages and thieves

came along and started to cause trouble so Pope stregnted himself by allowing clerics into the group making the League.
And i was all alone, the fighter type, nobody wanted me, so I took on everybody and laid my claim over DAoC forum, and defeated the Shadow Mages(yes i did Kayless, until Buck deleted it).
I miss those days when the BG2 forum was fun. Thats why i made permenant move to SYM.
Oh well sorry for the spam. And I'm no spy because all the guilds have collapsed.

defeat??
ok nice story Thorin, buttuh, defeat us???
i may have been without internet for 3 weeks but i didn't see our great Guild being defeated by u, as a matter of fact i saw our gould back bigber then ever!
and IIRC we Shadow Mages never had any trouble defeating or overcoming the League or the Brootherhood.
We Thiefs and Mages were the most popular guild and the biggest.
even with a guild against us that had rangers, druids, clerics and fighters!
(i thought it would be time to make the forum interesting again

)

I think there needs to be a new divinity group, to make this forum more fun, but we need some tree huggers.
LOL, does anybody remember when some guy came along and flamed the treehuggers and stuff and the topic was moved to SYM where he was flamed so badly by Waverly&co.

LOL
If you can get a new guild started, more power to you. The Shadow Mages have been a bit too inclusive for my tastes (anybody remember when we were primarily thieves and mages?
). Having another option for fighters/rangers/clerics/whatever would be cool.

actually it started off as just assassins and mages.
then i think it begun to allow anyone who prefers a thief or mage/sorcerer.

that's treu Edwin and I first only wanted assassins and mages but when our guild got bigger and more populair, we even ended up with all rogues including bards

The guild also started out as NO SPAM and we all know how well that went.
