Yes Aqua Chan, cheer for the Americans. We'll ruin the world's most popular sport one way or another. With at least a draw against the Poles, our malignant ilk will procure ourselves a seat in the field of 16.

However, AC, if you must know, I've been a die hard football fan and player for most of my life even though I've spent all my time in the states. My words above are sarcastic although I'm sure there are many across the globe who shudder at the thought of our success in the sport.

Whew. Two paragraphs and no booze. :D

Not always, i want Spain to win the World Cup, they are hardly an underdog ;)
This WC has been thankfully free of too much hooliganism...maybe the cost of flying to the far east? :)
Not free of booze though :D

Oh well it was, lets put it this way, it is a lot like Braveheart. It all happened years ago, but Wales doesn't forget past injustice ;) Lets put it this way, as a country we have no actual power and are ruled over by our neighbours, we used to own a quater of England and they also steal all of out water...

As for Beckham, he is a muppet no matter what hair style he has ;)

@Aqua Chan, oh i am sure you could find some good history books on it :) I was being semi serious, i apologise to all concerned or being serious, i will stop and spam instead :D :D

Well, it *is* after five o'clock here, so I guess it's okay for me to become unsober (Look at me making up new words, and I haven't had a drink yet, either...)

@Sleepy - LOL!! :D I am feeling generous, and everyone needs a hug from time to time - just ask Viv ;)

@A-c - football is our national sport, and unfortunately a few teams are reknowned for attracting a certain type of supporter :( Unfortunately (IMO) for these animals, football is an adopted label, something to fight for, these are not genuine supporters in most cases, just nutters who enjoy the hit of group hysteria  I have heard that gang fights have been arranged in their little underworld in advance of a match - that there is contact between rival fans to meet up...thankfully, this is not anywhere near as rife as it used to be.

Sometimes it happens that an innocent will find themselves caught up in the heat of the moment, this is the emotion that is involved. Just ask Cantona ;)

@Ned LOL! :D and FYI we used to have an American play for my club (Sheffield Wednesday) we rated him highly - you might remember him, John Harkes ;)

@Omar - thank you ;)

Ned -

You should make up your own book titled "Ned's Thesaurus of Made-up Words to Use in the Tavern". I'd be glad to help you out with it. ;)

@Sleepy - why not? he has never done me any harm :)

re Cantona - he is bad seed - amazing talent, but his actions that day were way over the top. Forget anything about genius, and consider Mr Unstable. btw - did you know it was Sheffield Wednesday that brought Cantona to the UK?? He got as far as the subs bench then we released him to Leeds. Wilkinson did not have the man management to bring out his talent (though apparently Lesley Ash did :D ) hence he is transferred after a bust up with Lee Chapman, and Fergie steps in. Now Fergie knew how to harness the talent of Cantona, even if the ego was a major test for him...

Indeed Ysh, I know the name John Harkes, he was a pretty solid playa.

Looking at the size of the DF Tavern and the DF Discusssion Part III, I now see how we spent our time in Part II.

Not yet, look at the menacing use of that poker ;)

I must say Ferguson as a man manager always seems quite poor to me, i was not aware Sheff Wed had Cantona first, maybe if you had played him.... ;) Whatever happened to Lee Champan anyway? :) I think i am thinking of Lee Sharpe

I think i have found a sure fire way to kill spam, talk about Welsh history :D :D
