Originally posted by dragon wench It's an old magical principle -- it's even filtered down into RPG systems -- that magic, while taking a lot of effort, can be 'stored' -- in a staff, for example. Nice sig
BTW i was reading Colour of Magic last night, i am not sure how familiar people are with it, but i love the lines about how long it takes to learn spells "they spend so long looking through old grimores that by te time the learn how to teleport naked virgins into their room they can't remember why" (from memory and wrong )
I'd have to get drunk every night and talk about virility...And those Pink elephants I'd see.

@Ned - this tavern has proven a busy distraction from Discussion - and what an amazing lack of beer for a pub!!!!
@Sleepy - re Fergie - he kept and harnessed the talents of Cantona, he has brought many youngsters through the ranks (including Beckham and Giggs) and has players earning 20 grand a week that are happy to sit on the bench....I think he is getting something right
@Omar - that poker is intended for Sleepy right?
@DW Hi *hug* I see your tavern is dredged from the depths of the gutter again
Parachute for sale, like new! Never opened!

You know what? I actually felt quite guilty, after he gave me that ring and all... I didn't actually wear it because I figured I would rather have the Ring of Gaxx on one hand and some other powerful magic ring on the other... I hope he didn't notice it at the bottom of my bag of holding

I didn't have to feel guilty -- I DID wear it. All the way through ToB. It was a loyalty thing, you know. I was glad to have it.

I did for a while... but then I decided my well-being was more important. Umm... maybe I just wore it on a chain round my neck, or something

Oh, I can understand that completely. ...But seeing as it was Moira's ring, don't you think it was a little off of him to give you his dead siblin's favorite piece of jewelery? I know where it's really emtional and all, but still...
...And if I don't talk to you later, Georgi...*hugs* (I'm sorry, but this is the first real conversation I've had with you. )

Well, let's say it hardly puts to rest those niggling little feelings that there's something not quite right about a guy whose girlfriend reminds him so much of his sister... Actually, since his sister was a maternal figure after the death of his mother, it's almost Oedipal...
@ Georgi - lol! The idea of him thinking about his sister when trying to...er, uh...be faithful to you spiritually, mentally and physically (yikes) is somewhat nerve-racking, however.
I know I'd hate it if my boyfriend was thinking of his ex-
when we kiss...much less his *sister*! **supressed the urge to shudder violently**
Oh, lordy. What have I gotten myself into now...

So I take it you hadn't heard that particular Anomen gripe then? Ok, so his sister meant a lot to him and all, but really you don't want to hear all the time how much you remind him of his sister...
